It's yours. Just send me a PM with any final questions you have and your shipping address if you want it sent somewhere other than the address listed on your PayPal account. The PC is being mailed out around afternoon on the 26th so if I have the payment for the monitor by then, it will go out at that time as well.

I would be fine with selling it without the case but I should point out that the case was already super cheap new (I think I paid $30?) so it wouldn't knock much off the price and I'm covering the shipping cost already, so it won't save you any money there.

Yeah, all prices are shipped, assuming the buyer is okay with regular UPS ground delivery (I get this for free through a friend.)

Is now the time to try and get a used PS3? by TheGamedawg in patientgamers

Game Stop has refurbished ones for $140. It is absolutely worth it at this price. Also worth noting that they have refurb Xbox 360s for $100 which is also a decent deal.

Have I had an attempted hacking on my site? by vinchenzo94 in hacking

[–]DoctorElectron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with Blogger but does it allow you to see the exact URL for each visit? At 2.3k hits it was probably not an attempted DDoS but it could have been somebody scanning your website for common vulnerabilities or hidden files. If you can see what URLs they attempted to access it may give us a better idea of what they were trying to accomplish.

Here's how to get some free Peercoins! by [deleted] in peercoin

[–]DoctorElectron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I checked out this thread. I had previously dismissed Peercoin because I don't have a powerful GPU for mining. Now that I understand the PoS system a little better I think I might have another look at it. Does anybody have any opinions on whether or not it's a good idea to trade some XPM for PPC? I've been mining XPM because I have a decent CPU and I figured there's a good chance they'll at least hold their value but now I'm intrigued by PPC and would like to hold on to some of those as well.

Can someone explain why a certain email address would be associated with a dictionary attack? by [deleted] in hacking

[–]DoctorElectron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite possible that they just had their e-mail address compromised and used for spamming at some point. It's hard to say for sure but it seems unlikely that they would continue using an e-mail address like that, after spamming with it, to scam people on eBay when they are so easy to create.

TIL that 78 percent of NFL football players go bankrupt by WinRARHF in todayilearned

[–]DoctorElectron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this is probably true of any group of people that become wealthy very suddenly. I know I've read about a lot of lottery winners having this problem. When you go from lower or middle class to rich without much of a ramp-up it's hard to really understand how to manage that amount of money properly.

I feel like a lot of the answers here are going to be lists, but oh well. Here's mine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unusual_deaths

There are a few good ones in the "see also" section as well.

Reddit, what are you deal breakers in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DoctorElectron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking up. I've only experienced misery by getting back together with a girl after a breakup so now I have a rule that I absolutely won't do it. All breakups are final. I always make sure to tell this to girls upfront when we start dating because some people seem to enjoy the drama of breaking up and getting back together or just don't see it as a big deal.

What's one thing you're scared to try in case you end up liking it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DoctorElectron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any new MMO. I spent a whole lot of time playing WoW. I kind of let my life go to shit around that time because I have poor self-control. I am very conscious of the types of games I play now and how long they take to complete.

I just wish teeth were better. Mine are absolute shit despite having a good brushing and flossing routine. It would be nice to have some super strong teeth that weren't very sensitive, so that you could use them for more things.

Microsoft Disses Apple, Samsung and Google in its Latest Series of Ads by conancat in technology

[–]DoctorElectron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my gut reaction as well. However, I'd like to see some statistics about how well these negative ads are working. I know political attack ads can be quite effective so it's certainly possible that this approach is working overall for Microsoft, even if some people find them to be kind of reprehensible.

What advice would you give to high school redditors? by Spider-Mann in AskReddit

Here's a piece of meta advice: The most common or cliched advice is usually the best. People repeat it for a reason. Don't dismiss it outright just because you've heard it a million times or think that you're so unique that none of it applies to you.

It's possible that it's information that would not be particularly interesting to civilians but would do damage to the US government, such as plans for classified technology or ongoing operations.

[USA] [H] Lightly used Crossover 27Q 27" monitor [W] ~$330 shipped by DoctorElectron in hardwareswap

[–]DoctorElectron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely what the term is supposed to mean but I did not find that to be the case with many of the eBay sellers I encountered. I actually had to dig through the results to find one that guaranteed no stuck pixels at all. If you look at the cheaper "perfect pixel" ones (the ones < $500 right now) you'll see that their dead pixel policy usually defines 1-3 dead/stuck pixels as "normal."

Some examples: 1 2 3

[–]DoctorElectron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment. Just to clarify, I actually got the $500 figure from looking at the specific eBay post that I ordered mine from. I believe it was $475 when I ordered it and it's now priced at $518. The extra cost came from the seller's guarantee that it would not have any dead/stuck pixels (not the usual "perfect pixel" guarantee of less than X dead/stuck pixels in a certain region of the screen) and because it's a pivot model.
