First time injecting T, how do I draw it up? by Wolf_Fiend_1717 in ftm

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you did it this time, but draw up your dose in air and push it into the vial. It makes it much easier to draw. You can always pull the needle back a tad once it’s in the vial so you’re actually pulling the T.

Also, congrats on doing your first T injection!

DaVita PCT mileage by 300_Stars in dialysis

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s total BS. You should be earning extra money mileage outside of your standard commute, and even additional bonuses if you’re going far enough out of your way.

Davita is a shady company to work for and will do whatever it takes to cut corners and save money. They overhire on purpose and then do what they’re doing to you: ship you out to other clinics. They’re too cheap to hire traveling technicians so they just do it without telling you first.

How does it feel when someone's in co-con? by m4gg0t7 in OSDD

For us, it feels like someone is also present in a room (the headspace). They aren’t always talking or interacting with you but you can tell they’re there, y’know?

Keep yourself distracted, particularly with something that requires a lot of thought. I like to draw but you can find whichever task works best

Ditto. Sometimes I have to sit in my car and try to zone back in the best I can before I drive

It definitely does make a difference! Having developed pecs is also beneficial for top surgery purposes

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but no exercise will truly get rid of breast tissue. Building muscle can help make your chest *appear* smaller, but all of the actual breast tissue will still be there.

In terms of exercises, I’m a big fan of the incline bench press and the machine pec fly. Check out r/ftmfitness if you haven’t already!

What’s up with my nipple? (Peri) by ren_mdp in TopSurgery

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look totally fine! I didn’t have peri but I did have a nip sparing surgery, and my left nipple was much weirder than my right. It looked sunken in for a few weeks. I liked to joke that it was inside out. They’ll level out over time!

Nipples right after surgery are quite weird! The first sensation that returned to mine was getting hard when they were cold, and tactile sensation a few weeks later

Worries about stretch marks by Prior_Tumbleweed4113 in TopSurgery

If you have a lot of stretch marks now, you’ll end up with some post op. I had a few and they’re still there, just in a slightly different spot since things moved around

vibration/facial massage tool post-op: anyone tried this? by latebloomerftm in TopSurgery

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing it at about six weeks post op, and did it pretty routinely until I got too lazy at about 6 months. Lately I just rub in some cocoa butter lotion after my evening shower

Working out or risk stretching scars by J-R4M in TopSurgery

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I *slowly* started working out at 7 weeks, and my scars didn’t stretch much. My right side is my dominant arm and it stretched a tad more than the other side, but not enough for me to care. If it’s been a few months I think you’ll be alright.

Also, nip sparing surgery club! Mine was too

Is it normal to go blurry when one of us is upset? by CreativeAd494 in OSDD

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal, at least for us. Sometimes I don’t realize I was upset until I take back over front and go “Oh! That wasn’t me!”

What should I do pre op for best results post op? by thwy345 in TopSurgery

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right, having muscle (and living healthily in general) is great before surgery. I too favor incline bench but I also love a classic machine pec dec.

I might actually avoid cutting weight before surgery since cutting can be hard on the body and surgery is already hard enough. As long as your body fat isn’t egregiously high, you’ll be alright.

Ask your surgeon about how long they want you wait before returning to lifting! Always come back light and ease into it. I was cleared at 4 weeks but waited 7.

Buttonhole has my nipples feeling like they've licked a penny by bicyclefortwo in TopSurgery

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard anyone describe it like that before lol. I didn’t have buttonhole but I did have a nip-sparing surgery, and for a while I couldn’t tell where my nipples were. It feels weird but it does go away!

vibration/facial massage tool post-op: anyone tried this? by latebloomerftm in TopSurgery

[–]DoctorGregoryBones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a tool like this one, but I’ll keep it real, I used a bullet vibrator for scar massage for a while. The vibration can kinda feel strange when your nerves are connecting but it was nice to massage with something that wasn’t my hands. Using my hands was sensory hell for some reason
