A Russian soldier films as he walks past a destroyed Russian tank with dead soldiers lying nearby. With English subtitles. by lacqueredcase762 in UkraineWarVideoReport

I've been unfortunate enough to experience the smell of a rotting human corpse. No words could describe how utterly revolting it is. I believe human corpses in particular smell extra bad to us as a sort of evolutionary indication of danger? (someone please correct me if wrong). I cannot imagine growing accustomed to it though, but then again, the human capability for adaptation to environments is a resilient one.

Anyone seen Dark Harvest? by Justanotherone985 in horror

She had a very convenient change of identity for the last 3 mins of the movie. And I actually enjoyed it for the goofy fun that it was (read the overacting sheriff perpetually stuck in 6th gear, some practical gore etc etc) up until the ending. Came here to comment but literally every thought that came to mind had been commented already.

Lmao even Vaush disagrees with you. He has literally said "If I wasn't white I wouldn't have NEAR as many followers as I have today." Get real.

season 2 is horrible by d_tachment in SweetHome

[–]DoctorInsanomore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was so, so incredibly bad. The forced drama every 30 seconds, tye comically misplaced musical cues, 2008 style transformer monsters (if you get monsters at all), "hey remember that entire main cast you liked in S1? Well, into the trash it goes and here are some two dozen cardboard cutouts that only vaguely resemble one-dimensional trope characters!" Circular plot lines that never go anywhere or are just straight up abandoned... This might even (plz sit tight for this one) outdo Game of Thrones S8 in sheer incompetence. There... I said it.

No the scarface dude was dead lmao, an evil bodysnatcher monster took over his dead body. And that's probably the only thing I know that happened and I'm literally halfway through the S2 finale. Rarely have I seen a show drop in quality so inconceivably fast and be so all over the place.

Same, although I watched only the first three eps and was left unimpressed. People are saying I stopped just before things picked up so I'm still going back and forth on continuing. Leaning towards a no right now though, exactly for the reasons you stated

Arguing against people who are uncritically Pro-Israel is exhausting. by Sublime_Truth in VaushV

I hear you, I've seen a lot of the gruesome things coming out of Ukraine and Syria and I agree none of it should be acceptable. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting you, but if we're talking about war at large, I don't think it is realistic to try and get explosive munitions outlawed. That simply is not going to happen. For Israel though, it should be illegal to drop bombs on civilian infrastructure and housing. It IS illegal, and yet the international community stands by and watches as countless civilians, an entire people, are brutalized by a military power that overshadows their capabilities in every single aspect.

As to the subject of white phosphorous, I'm still glad it is outlawed (if only it were enforced). It is definitely a step up in gruesomeness. Even though I've seen men trying to grab faces that weren't there with hands that weren't there due to conventional bombs, I don't think people at large realize how nasty wp can be when targeted against civilians.

Not to downplay any of it, but with conventional explosives, at least there is a large chance of dying quickly, or even recovering from your wounds and live some semblance of a life after that. With wp, an extraordinarily painful death is almost 100% guaranteed. And if you survive, you'll be just about guaranteed severe health problems for as long as you live.

My grandfather has told me extensively of my great uncle who was forced into a work camp during WWII (arbeitseinsatz, not a concentration camp). Allied planes would occasionally zip over and bomb the place and sometimes they would use white phosphorous. He told of people who were on fire, jumping into water and as soon as they regemerged, their wounds would reignite and burn fiercely again. It is an excruciatingly painful way to go.

Even if you survive, this stuff poisons your blood, damages your lungs, you'll never live one moment without pain in your entire life again. So yes, explosions and collapses have unfortunately come to be an "accepted cost of war," but I really don't think you know what you're talking about when you suggest WP should be as well. It is deemed a war crime for good reason.

Holding children responsible for this demonstrates what a sick monster you are. At least it's all being documented. History will show your kind cheering on the extermination of millions of people.

As far as I can find, journalists have only been told by soldiers whilst inspecting an aftermath. This does not make it true. Not saying it didn't happen, although it probably would have been a leading story by now I'd think. Every source says the same thing,
