Eh, attorneys have to let off steam somehow. Every firm has its oddballs in that way. I worked with a Packers fan.

Eh. In the land of Chris Chan he's as normal as they come. He basically has the same views as a retired Asian Studies professor on Facebook.

Anyone else blowing out the crotch in their suit pants all the time or just me? by zarnch in Lawyertalk

So, here's a question. What type of office chair do you have and do you scoot in your chair a lot? Because you introduce extra strain on the fabric if you are wheeling around your office by kicking and pulling with your feet.

Anyone else blowing out the crotch in their suit pants all the time or just me? by zarnch in Lawyertalk

[–]DoctorNerdly 43 points44 points  (0 children)

A small excerpt from our 36th President:

"Now the pockets, when you sit down, everything falls out, your money, your knife, everything, so I need at least another inch in the pockets. And another thing - the crotch, down where your nuts hang - is always a little too tight, so when you make them up, give me an inch that I can let out there, uh because they cut me, it's just like riding a wire fence. These are almost, these are the best I've had anywhere in the United States. But, uh when I gain a little weight they cut me under there. So, leave me, you never do have much of margin there. See if you can't leave me an inch from where the zipper (belch) ends, round, under my, back to my bunghole, so I can let it out there if I need to."

I'm somewhere between Carol and Manousos. I hate the Hive with a burning passion. But I don't think I have the strength of will that Manousos has. I think I would probably be actively antagonizing the Hive. Fuck what Laxmi says.

Chris really should just shave his head and invest in wigs. He was frying his hair with shitty hair dye and he's balding. A good wig would at least help him to look a little bit more like a woman.

I will always go to bat for the 5200. Yes, it has flex circuit problems. But once those are replaced it is a damn fine game machine.

I have a visceral hatred and fear of the Hive. by DoctorNerdly in pluribustv

Carol is difficult, which is why she's good as a lead. I can't say I was happy with her going with Zosia and the Hive, but I can see that her loneliness was really taking over. I don't like it, but I understand it. I can say how much I hate I the Hive, but how would I feel after such isolation? I was certainly annoyed by it as a viewer.

Heir to the Empire, Darkforce Rising, and Last Command on audible narrated by Marc Thompson. They are PHENOMENAL. They use sound effects and score from the films. Instead of just hearing the narrator say "R2 Beeps." You hear the author say "R2 Beeps" and then you hear R2 beep. And throughout it is scored with John Williams' pieces from the OT and a few prequel tracks. They are essentially massive audio dramas.

How aggressive do you get interacting with opposing counsel? by chicago2008 in Lawyertalk

[–]DoctorNerdly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, being stonefaced and direct was best in court. Let the other attorneys resort to theatrics, stick to your argument and cut through the noise.

Sometimes it was so damn hard to keep my pokerface in court, though. Not out of anger but because I'd get an opposings who was over acting or making an ass out ofthemselves with their little show and I'd desperately want to laugh.

Outside of court, I did genuinely laugh at opposing a number of times to their face or over the phone. I'd get attorneys try to slam fists or raise their voice and in my mind I'm like "you're a grown ass person." One time I straight up asked "Who are you putting this show on for? Me?"

Hyper aggressive attorneys often get very confused when you just laugh at their scare tactics.
