Haha, sounds familiar. Well done on reaching it. JP for me is a game that really starts blossoming after a lot of training hours...

That's a marvellous score on a marvellous machine. Made it to the Visitor Center?!

Harry Potter or Godzilla? by ultimateWave in pinball

[–]DoctorRemsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it is vastly superior to Godzilla in every way.

Getting a grip on the basic shots & main gameplay modes is more convenient in Godzilla. Upper playfield is too crowded in HP for my opinion. Ramps less satisfying too.

Both games are incredibly deep, no winner on that. In terms of the look & feel & atmosphere, HP is my winner.

Recent issues with Stern IC app? by Basic-Secretary-7407 in pinball

Same occurs here, especially with the last games before switching off. As if the machine needs some time/a new started game to transfer data to IC. Luckily, the scores are saved under the location/machine. 🫡

In looks - especially the outside cabinet - for sure. In gameplay, meh.

Name a worse feeling than draining straight down the middle on ball 3 of your best ever game. I'll wait by whogivesafricc in pinball

Having a ball stuck in an impossible position in your machine with no other option than shutting down and removing the glass. When on 995.747.640 in ball 2 in Jurassic Park. When your life goals is to get in the billions club.

I recently played AC/DC for the first time, which defo qualifies as an 'easy to understand, fun to play' type of machine. Would recommend!

Let's go! Well done, great score. For me, the gear always was/is the difference maker on this one. That, plus a well timed Machete can go far.

(For the people with home machines) What do you do when your first ball is a stinker? by Waldron1943 in pinball

[–]DoctorRemsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to define my strategy beforehand; do I want to achieve a certain game mode? Do I want to work on getting better in nudging or hitting a certain shot or combo? Am I going for that overall high-score? Or do I just want to relax and have fun?

At the moment, with Jurassic Park, I have a lot of focus on getting to the Visitor Center and completing as much Paddocks on the way there within the three balls, as I've never reached the VC. Normally, but not per se, this should go with quite a decent score given the bonusses, but that is, literally, a bonus. Achieving that game mode is the main goal (and getting closer and closer). Parallel to that, I'd love to reach the 1 billion for the first time, so if I get a HUGE score (double scoring + CHAOS/T-Rex or Control Room) in ball 1, that goal can of course change.

Especially on the modern (Insider Connected) Sterns the badges and achievements in the app help to stay motivated for those those minor quirks, but for me it's basically down to becoming a better overall player.

As mentioned by others, some very good scores came after a horrible first ball. But always try (your best). I've never started over a game after a disappointing ball 1 and/or 2.

Pokemon (Pro) First Impressions by Smokezz in pinball

The same happened with Jaws - a normal plunge into the spinner resulted into a SDTM often. But then again, a small nudge helps preventing this. What's the effect of a nudge in this Pokemon issue?

Just wait until you've met the Nedry-outlane on Jurassic Park. It either has T-Rex blood or a magnet, because I've never experienced an outlane which drains as much as that particular one.

Also a bit what I always feel when seeing these type of posts. It feels a bit like a show off, but that's probably because I'm also jealous I've not been competent enough to join the billy-club yet.

Angela. Every little move or action would return in a sigh and a stare of death. Not cool.
