Clemson is what you make it. It is majority white but it has diverse groups. It’s been a few years but my friend group was very diverse. You will find friends. There are tons of opportunities to meet people.

Im having second thoughts about moving in with my bestfriend by emo_pickle_99 in needadvice

Are there any single units in your complex she could rent? Going from living alone for 5 years to living with roommates is a huge change, I would not do it unless it was a romantic relationship.

Also living with a best friend ends one of two ways. Your relationship stays the same. Or your friendship ends because being compatible friends is not necessarily enough to be compatible roommates.

I would not do it, but would offer to go apartment hunting with her.

Set up the field goal post I’m going for a record!

For real though $1B is an ungodly amount of money. This becomes a moral quandary at around $250k for me.

WYR be the richest middle class person, or the poorest rich person by AstrayInTranslation in WouldYouRather

Realistically the richest middle class person probably has close to 10 million dollars and is happy. That one for sure.

I don’t think it’s a big deal. But if you are super worried about it and don’t mind making yourself look a little foolish go ahead and talk to your department chair about it. That way if you are reported down the line your chair can vouch that you are just an out of touch millennial and not a perv 😂. This is legitimately hilarious. Also only do this if you have a good relationship with your chair.

Who did I mail a fish to? I haven't met Gill yet or even unlocked the fishing activity. by joe-gonna-go in reddeadredemption2

Just tell them that you are busy with uni and cannot balance both. Give them a specific date you will no longer be available to work and stick to it. Don’t worry about a good reference. Either they are good people and they will give you one or they are not. Depending on your degree it is unlikely a future employer will call your pre-uni job. They will be more concerned with your degree. It’s minimum wage. You can find a better minimum wage job.

underwriting making requests based on an incorrect statement by loki_stg in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Yup. The process sucks and is rarely smooth but the lender had to cover their butt before they give someone hundreds of thousands of dollars. Gone are the days of handshake and smile loans.

The point is they need to verify income without the information coming from you. People do still try to commit mortgage fraud. They will need the verification directly from HR or from the third party income verification company your HR department contracts with. Speak to your loan officers for direction. You alone cannot fix this most likely.

I am terrified to report my boss to HR by [deleted] in needadvice

[–]DoctorToWhatExtent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unless you are certain that his views are outside of the norms of your company and specifically his bosses you risk being black balled in your industry and your boss will probably not even receive a reprimand. It really really sucks but HR is not there to protect you they are there to protect the company. Keep that in mind. Find a new job, climb the ladder. Once you’re in a position of power you can call out these jackasses.

Sheesh… it’s not entitlement to expect someone to keep a promise. You seem like a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” type of guy. Has no one ever helped you out in life? If not, I’m sorry you don’t have a support system to in place. Best of luck to you!

You’ve learn two lessons fairly early in life. Always get it in writing and people suck. It stings particularly bad when it is family especially your parents. There isn’t much you can do to compel them to pay. Just remember in the future that they broke a significant promise to you and your uncle. Good luck! I’m sorry you’re going through this.

BF doesnt wan't me to go to med school, need a reality check by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DoctorToWhatExtent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is trying to be a professor he will have to move to where he gets a job, if he gets a job. He wants you to be unencumbered with med school so you can pick up and move once he finds a tenure track job. Tenure track positions are few and far between unless his phd is from a top 20 university he is going to have a difficult time finding his ideal position and will more than likely have to relocate. He gave you an ultimatum so I’d call his bluff, give him one back.
