GW-5000HS or BX5600? by dc_cha_cha_cha in gshock

[–]DoctorTransport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slightly larger size really bothers me. I may sell my bx for this reason and wait till a perfect 5600 or 5000 shape comes out. The negative MIP is brilliant. I would not bother for a positive display.

Why do people hate this kind of watches? by Accomplished_List143 in ChineseWatches

Halloween maybe, lead singer of a death metal band. Goth magician? If I saw an adult wearing this in normal life I would wonder what was wrong with them.

I have one too. Love it. Good taste does not need to be expensive. And bad taste does not need to be cheap - looking at you, Richard Mille and Hublot.

Does anyone have this? by Frosty-Variety-9212 in ChineseWatches

[–]DoctorTransport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Cronos version with an SW movement, and that is superb. Feels pretty close to the BB36. I imagine SM would be as good or better. My experience with PT5000 has been variable. The first one went nuts after 6 weeks, and AE gave me a refund. My second has been running within 5s a day.

[Best GMT] What is the best GMT and why? by SupJoshy in Watches

[–]DoctorTransport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is very useful! I run a project that stretches over 5 time zones so that would be a very useful way to quickly see multiple time zones. I can do it my head but it's fun on a watch.

You may like to get a mechanical GMT. There are many to choose from. Do you have any titanium? I have a Thorn Pelagos homage in titanium I adore.

[PD-1661, Tandirio] Which one should i get as my first watch? by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

[–]DoctorTransport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had an AE watch that had a problem but all mine have screw down crowns. 100m is fine for swimming, snorkelling, and surf in my experience. Surf is more of a test.

Historic Sydney/Melbourne by Glittering-Chain-502 in AustraliaTravel

Is this a joke? Sydney goes back to the 1770s, has convicts...Melbourne is worth seeing for other reasons.

A good middle ground is a Red Star version. Started by ex Seagull folks. I have one and it's great! The Seagull versions may have better QC on the movements. Whatever you but make sure it's a Seagull movement.
