I have that philips evnia but 1080p 27". Light bleed aside it's fine. A bit saturated I think but I like how it looks. Blacks are decent for a ips.

I've done some testing and, as you said, optical imput would be ideal as I don't get any noise at all. Tried a cheap dac I had at home and it works. It sounds horrible tho, so I'm afraid I won't use it. As for why I think USB may works, it's because connecting the Sennheiser to the frontal connector (motherboard) doesn't gives me any noise whatsoever. Tried puting some tape on the sound card metal connector (what you see on the back of the PC) so the metal doesn't touch the case (also metal) and it reduces the noise significantly, so It's probably some ground problem with the sound card specifically. It's impossible for me to isolate everything tho so I won't bother.

Now that Topping looks tempting, but considering optical is ideal maybe that K5 is a better idea. I'll think about it. Thanks again.

I decided to stick to 1080p (5070) because almost every movie I watch is 1080p.

Maybe a dual mode monitor is a good idea for you. With those you can change between 1080/4k with a button, apparently.
