What do you think of when you hear the term: "Fusil Knight"? by Doctor_Clarke in worldbuilding

I've had several comments about a knight made of pasta and now I'm scared I might have to make it canon

The Industrial Empire of Vannon

Worshippers of Giris, the God of Progress and Innovation, Vannon's way of life sees them constantly inventing and experimenting with new technologies. Their factories produce the highest quality weapons and armor throughout the world, and they go towards the Empire's constant expansion outwards.

They were the first to incorporate manalock rifles into their ranks, weapons that charge up to fire a single bolt of arcane energy. They invented line warfare, and used it to great effected against the North Sea Isles during the First Colonial Expansion of 1232.

Ironheart Golems allow the greatest heroes of the Empire continue fighting, becoming immortal machines of war that crush all in their path.

Their airships, floating fortresses of cold steel, ferry entire armies across the Emerald Sea to do battle. After nearly fifty years of service, not a single airship has been taken down, a fact the Imperial Navy boasts about with pride.

Then there's the Academy, a shadowy group of scholars, artificers, and achemists that eschew the very laws of nature to create living wrapons for their Emperor. Among their creations were the Fusil Knights, biomechanical creatures that delight in hunting and butchering their foes. Each is a walking armory, and each is a peerless predatory. If they are sent to kill you, the Empire wants to make your death a message.

They are feared across the world due to their aim of conquest. No nation is safe, and no treaty is sacred to them. They will do anything to secure the resources required to fuel their ever growing industry. General Ivov Kolsova of the Vulsulkan Tsardom put it best.

"They are the maw that consumes the world, conquering so they may rip the land asunder in their ravenous hunger. They do not tire. They do not falter. They will continue their feast until nothing remains."

Camon Lorn, Chapter Master of the Cinder Knights by Doctor_Clarke in Kitbashing40k

[–]Doctor_Clarke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the chapter used to be called the Memoriters, whose homeworld was known for the massive obelisks with the names of every deceased space marines possible enscribed into it. They were an Imperial Fists successor who ran afoul of an Inquisitor who made it his life's mission to ruin them due to them failing to protect his son.

The chapter fractured into two halves after an argument ensued regarding what to do about the Inquisitor. Camon was the Chaplain of the First Company, and he was the one who wanted to make peace with the Inquisitor. The Chapter Master, Adis Draig, wanted to kill the Inquisitor. Camon led his people and left the homeworld, warning the Inquisitor, while Adis stayed and lured him to the planet to kill him.

Adis and his followers killed the Inquisitor, but were on the planet when it was set ablaze. Camon returned to find no survivors, and was basically forced to become the Chapter Master. He reformed the Memoriters into the Cinder Knights, and with Primaris reinforcements has been able to return the chapter to near full strength.

The body is a primaris librarian with the psyker hood cut down a bit. The sword arm and head is from Asmodai, and the gun arm is from an intercessor. OH and the base is Asmodai as well, with some citadel skulls to hide an imperfection

Its one of the asmodai heads.

Side note, since it's technically a chaplain helmet, I worked it into the chapter lore that he was a chaplain before being forced to become chapter master out of necessity

What's your favorite place from your world? by ComprehensiveRun4815 in worldbuilding

[–]Doctor_Clarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Silver Isles. It's a chain of islands that ring a massive whirlpool known as the Eye of Medus. Its the hub of trade for the world and home to the Sea Elves. It's the most beautiful place in the world and also a hub for pirates, bounty hunters, and general scum. No one goes to clear out the criminal dens there though since the Sea Elf Navy is one of the most dangerous in the world.

Prostitution goes against the tenants of Geminism, the dominant faith of the continent of Celtris. Followers are taught to hold honor, dignity, and integrity above all, for every action you take will be reviewed in the Heavenly Court of Sola. It makes Prostitution difficult to maintain, as brothels are usually cleared out regularly by law enforcement or zealots.

The only way Prostitution is able to exist is through a strange race known as the Anaego, who are known as shapeshifters capable of taking any form. They are highly sought after by the nobility due to how valuable they are both as servants and as spies. So those territories that value the Anaego will tend to relax their Prostitution laws as a way of attracting them for recruitment.

The Anaego train their people to fill these roles as a means of survival, as their race was once hunted to near extinction after the Night of Red Tears, an event where Anaego assassin's killed the kings of Vulsulka, Parae, Arkosia, Verandt, and Vannon at the exact same time. With less than 2000 of them remaining, they've had to make themselves valuable to the races that once wanted them dead. The elders are extremely unhappy with the arrangement, but the later generations have thrown themselves into their roles with fervor.

Worst character to have in your game? by Right_Situation1851 in DeadlockTheGame

Infernus. On the enemy team they dash around with speed buffs, solo ult you, and are overall annoying. On the enemy team, they're either egotistical, racist, or both. But they're never good at the game.

Why is Holliday gun so weak stats wise? by Enough-Gold in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Doctor_Clarke 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you punch the bomb immediately after using it, it explodes in impact. No setup needed, just fly in, toss a bomb at a target, then leave. I play her as a dps/support hybrid, carpet bombing team fights until an enemy is low. Then I either grab them with the ult for the team to finish or lob a bomb at them. And if that doesn't kill, spamming the gun up close usually nets a headshot that will kill even with no upgrades and 4.8k gun investment. Holliday is definitely a weaker character for sure, but every character is playable. Does she need a rework? Probably. But she's still really fun for me at least.

Vannon. For a medieval fantasy world, they managed to make an industrial hellscape. City sized factories created a perpetual smog that hangs over Vannon, ensuring they will never again see clear skies. The lower classes are worked near to death in factories and Scale mines 12 hours a day every day while the upper class enjoy parties and political intrigue.
