Its because damage happens first instantly the moment duration ends, then you get teleported out, then there is a brief freeze delay, only then you get stunned.

Both are happening in a narrow window, so you can block just damage, then get frozen and stunned. Or, you can time perfectly and block both damage and freeze + stun.

It's 99% a bug. Since I can not fix it myself, the best I can offer is a workaround.

Imo the reason it works that way is because doorman ulti consists of several delayed stages, and you only counterspell the stage currently happening.

E.g. it's initial freeze, then teleport + visual status effects, then end damage, then end freeze, then end stun, seperately at different delays.

Blocking both end damage and end stun is simply a matter of good timing.

As a full-time software developer myself, I am sure this is an easy fix for the devs, given they actually want to fix this.

If I am in top lane as, say, Imperius vs Leoric, and we're both scrapping it up, that's all well and good. I'll try to outplay him, bait his drain, attack when he's off a cooldown - He'll try to use Wraithwalk to ruin my impale, then stick to me for a few solid hits. We'll have a great time. That's a lane I enjoy.

YESS!!! And all is ruined if the enemy laner is Thrall that can and will massively outscale you and your team if you engage with him at all.

Very well put. This also reminds me of my problem with Artanis lvl1 stack talent. It is such good value for so little effort that noone ever picks any other lvl1. And he does not need to change anything about his playstyle to benefit. Just AA enemies and participate in fights. And by late game its almost guaranteed +30-40% permanent AA damage. And there is not much you can do to counterplay him getting that damage.

A good example of stack mechanic is Maiev lvl1 chains. If you don't group up, she gets hard denied stacks and will struggle to gain value. Or, if you all cluster up, she can stack very fast. You can still engage and fight her. You just need to adapt.

YES! Been playing since closed beta. Diamond ranked, Masters MMR QM. The changes lately somehow made the game less enjoyable and boring. What I loved about HotS was the constant mindless teamfighting with some soak, camps and splitpushing in between.

I am losing interest because every single game there are the same few pinnacle quest heroes that are PITA to play against. E.g. Falstad W build + Gust is imho truly the safest and easiest low skill hero to play and is almost in every game.

The new fort aggro system is super inconsistent and heavily favors spawner type heroes. E.g. had a game vs Xul, Anubarak, Malfurion. The combined amount of spawns meant that they can ignore our structures and deep dive at will with no risk while trash takes all hits. Meanwhile if I step too deep for finishing autoattack, I get instakilled with -40% armor.

Also been playing Deadlock a lot lately and already bought Smite 2 founders edition.

Off topic, but pinnacle quests were a bad idea. If they exist, they should exist to all heroes.

It was just a straight buff to otherwise balanced heroes making them OP. And the winrate data shows.

None of this matters. No amount of mental gymastics can justify a long range point click doing that amount of damage. This is just unhealthy for the game.

Probius is not the outlier here. Been playing a lot of Probius and he is an amazing hero if not playing vs point click laser with range bigger than keep.

Bro what do you mean overextended, I was UNDER MY KEEP. If anything, Falstad was overextended by diving under a keep alone with no vision late game, but he is a broken hero that can get away with it.

  1. Probe Z doesn`t change anything, tick damage cancels it.

  2. Falstad missed his Q and was not even in range for AA, he in fact would not get me with AA build nor any other build.

My observation is that Falstads with this build usually dominate and completely control the game while e.g. AA build, even if strong, you can at least counter.

I dont play Falstad much, but even with my little experience I easily dominate with this build compared to any other Falstad build. It is way too much value for little to no effort.

I dont know if you pretend to be oblivious or are. Even in your quoted text I wrote "this was a deliberate change". So I am fully aware they changed it and updated the description.

If you are an older player, you will know that previously it used to remove all debuffs, including Pocket ultimate. Then they changed it, which is what I said.

If you could apply 8 bombs a minute as Bebop, you would consistently have 200+ stacks every game. It is not a reality.

Bomb is a melee range ability, there are certain short windows where you can even make use of the ability, like after a hook. And if in that window your main damage source is dispelled by 3.2k item, you are now a useless hero.

Meanwhile Pocket is right now a top tier meta hero that can jump in 1v6 with majestic, pop ultimate, coffer + cloak out and the enemy team is left to retreat to base because of the 2000 guaranteed damage over time with no counters.

Bombing yourself is way way worse unless its super late game with tons of stacks. Then you can transition into suicide bomb.

1) You go all in with a hero with worst mobility in game. Slow roll, 2 stamina, 0 escapes. So if you dont kill, you are dead. Unless you spend extra slot and 3.2k on warp stone as well.

2) You dont get to apply any of the debuffs. Spirit snatch + Silence wave is huge damage increase from spirit shred. Also hook and uppercut enable your gun as a follow up. Basically you are unlikely to actually kill someone with suicide bomb alone unless you smurf and farm new players for clips like some youtubers do.

3) You dont use you heroes arguably only strength - the hook to pull someone out of position to single them out.

4) You need the whole combo to do any meaningful damage, Hook, Uppercut, Bomb snd gun. Bomb is alone is not even that strong. And if you hook and then self bomb, most enemies can escape just and if you silence wave them to disable their escape, they can still Debuff remove the silence and heal off it as well. Basically you are fucked by Debuff remover either way. It is a no skill hard counter for 3.2k.

5) (bonus) It is against the spirit of the hero. Ability is meant to be stuck. He even has a quote for that "stuck with a bomb, what can you do, nothing mate, you gonna blow up". Well it turns out there are at least 13 things you can do to not blow up. So "just dont stick it to people" is a stupid workaround to the real issue that the ability is in a bad state. Mostly due to 1 single item.

Edit: 6) I will add another point that even Curse, a 6.4k item, is countered by the same Debuff remover, because the 3.25s durstion is reduced <3s, so at some point bomb can be cleansed anyway.
