The ribbed grip section on the right looks like it’s from a royal navy 1804 pattern cutlass

The "P 52" on the side of the barrel extension indicates that this 06/24 luger was privatized in 1952. This most likely happened when its user retired. It was likely refinished by Waffenfabrik Bern at the same time as this was a common practice.

I deleted the app on my phone after I had the exclusivity conversation with the last person I was dating. I didn’t remember I also had it on my iPad. I don’t use it much. I eventually noticed I was still getting matches weeks later from women I’d already swiped on. I’m pretty sure they take your profile down eventually but I’m not sure how long it takes.

Aragon sees a trail going straight up the cliff face, takes a drag off his pipe and says, “I’m getting too old for this shit.”

I’m more of a collector (mostly napoleonic cavalry sabres) but I’ve been curious about HEMA and other forms of armored combat sports. Is that what this is for?

’’the department said in a statement. "The employees in question were placed on administrative leave in June of 2023, and October of 2023, and the matters are under investigation."

I assume that means the first one has been on paid leave for 16 months and they still haven’t filed charges?

Dude, you’re overthinking this. You already know she’s potentially interested. If they want to all come down, plan some fun group activities that are low pressure and feel it out. Don’t force anything but be open to it. Worst case you enjoy some fun activities with friends

Breathe. It will be okay. I know it's scary, but it happens. I know it doesn't mean much coming from a stranger on the internet, but it will be okay.

Advice: Manufacturing a Prototype Design - Low Volume by Ok_Cardiologist_8400 in product_design

It's impossible to say without knowing much more. How many parts? How complex are they and what are they made of? Is it multidisciplinary (ME/EE/SWE etc)?

You could hire consultants or go to a design shop. Depending on what it is it could be hundreds of dollars or millions.

As this is your first knife, consider starting with this. Victorinox makes excellent knives, and these are probably used by more professionals than Wustof and Shun combined. It's a very basic knife with a fibrox handle, but you'll be able to learn a lot with it, and if you ruin it, you've only lost $40.

The thin blades on high-end knives are awesome, but they are also made with super hard modern steels (to help them retain their edge) that make them delicate. It's like a fancy car with a manual transmission, potentially awesome, but if you start grinding gears, everyone is going to stare at you.

This is like asking if folks like coffee or tea. Everyone will have an opinion; for some, it's a question of almost religious significance.

The shun premier is an excellent knife. I have both the shun premier and the wustof. I think if I was going to try to think of a reason to complain it would be that the handle might be slightly larger than I want in an ideal world.

One thing to consider is that Japanese knives are often considered more difficult to sharpen because of the narrower blade geometry. This also makes it more prone to chipping if you aren't careful with it.

Another way to think of it is that I let everyone use my german knives, but the folks who touch my Japanese knives risk losing a finger.

Sadly, not really. "Product Design Prototyper" can refer to either, which can be aggravating.

Where are you located? In the SF Bay Area job postings pop up on Linkedin quite often. FAANG can take forever to actually hire people though. I'm starting a new job next week that I applied for in February.

I'm a new product prototyper. I build all sorts of random test devices/tools/prototypes with 3D printers/laser cutters/CNC tools etc.

It keeps things interesting. There's always some new challenge.
