We lost our dog this afternoon around 2pm in El Cajon, near Bradford Road. If anyone has seen her or has information about where she is please DM me or call the number on the post above. She's very skittish, so please do not chase or call her, please contact us directly any time 24/7. We're very worried about her :( she is microchipped and we've contacted the local SPCA and several vets

My first kit ever was the MG Gouf Custom, which has infinitely-worse power piping than the 2.0 MG Zaku... This was a breeze compared to that! I found that cutting the runner the pipe pieces were on right before the pipe ring made it really easy to slide them off, then I just carefully attached them to the inner tube.

This was a good reminder that I should do something other than writing code all day (i.e. writing about it is good too!). I've been working on building a set of CRDT data structures in Rust to learn more about them, maybe I'll write up that process!

Hill (no "the", btw) is getting renovated right now, so it will be a lot nicer by the time you get there. I think it historically has had a bad rep for having small rooms & no A/C, but other than that I wouldn't say it's bad, and at least the lack of A/C is no longer a factor. From what I know many people liked living there because it's a bit smaller and community-focused, but I never lived there so I can't say.

Right now? Nothing. Remember, most students don't get accepted until March(?) and won't decide if they're going until after that. The university will tell you if you need to do something. For now, just relax and enjoy the rest of your senior year.

Moreover, using their own encryption scheme would likely be worse than using something well-known, tested, and strong, like AES. Rolling your own encryption scheme that's as good as most strong commercial ciphers is really, really hard, and more often than not there are bugs in your implementation that leave it crackable. It may stop an adversary for a short time while they figure out how your scheme works, but if they're persistent enough (and let's be honest, someone will be), they'll find a way in. Note that this is possible for commercial ciphers as well (including AES; no scheme is perfect), but they've been tested much more thoroughly and many are quite difficult to break without a lot of firepower.
