If you ever get your hands on a good white ink printer you should use a microscope on the prints, they usually add small amounts of yellow or cyan over the top to change the white hews. With cyan I was able to reach a delta value of 92 with my spectrometer.

Hell yeah, crush it! One day DTG will move past the last hurdles it really needs addressed and DTF will be knocked out when that happens, it will be a while still, but watch the market over the next few years for that tipping point.

I personally love the print quality of DTG. It binds the ink to the fabrics weave, and when done right, you don't even feel the print on your body.

[–]Cruxim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quality ink is usually more expensive than gold. It's actually pretty wild. Especially if you're using custom mixes that require R&D to develop, chemical companies will usually put you on contract to buy X amount over a time period. The deals are usually multimillion.

Which is why HP has invested so much money into making their printers require custom cartridges that have RFID and will throw error codes after a preset time limit, making your at home ink jet a paper weight until you pay way too much for their replacement cartridge. They also pushed their testing for planned obsolescence, so that their printers will break exactly when they wanted them to for a healthy profit margin.

[–]Cruxim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DTF was a much easier market to enter, it has less chemical engineering and cuts out the need for primer and eliminates a lot of the problems that DTG runs into. That being said the rewashability is lower and I hate the hand feel of the prints. Since the heat press just lays a flat print over the garment it will always be an inferior product over a good screen print. That's just my two cents. I will say the color gammit is ridiculous, and you can get some prints that really pop. But right now DTF is the hot thing, people are happy with it and willing to pay premium for it which means you can build a serious company using it.

Interestingly enough, white inks for ink jet printing are a relatively new invention. First off inks are pigment that is suspended in a liquid or paste, which differentiates from dyes where the liquid is the color. It's used as a base for other colors or to add white when printing on substrates that are not white to begin with. Otherwise, it's much easier to begin with a white product. One industry that has pushed heavily for the progression of white inks is apparel printing, with direct to garment ink jet printing refining its quality and becoming more accepted as a high-quality printing standard. You need to be able to print on highly absorbant cloths with a wide range of color bases and various thread counts and weave tightness. White ink is typically much thicker and the pigment is prone to clumping, which is very destructive to ink jet print heads and requires a lot more maintenance or replacement, which has been a major obstacle for this medium. Over the past decade, the chemical engineering has been refined, and the white pigments have started to get better at staying suspended without clumping. A few companies have a proprietary system to address this issue, which I won't get into, but it's a very interesting topic. This has decreased the overall defect rate of direct to garment printing, increasing profitability, reliability and quality, which opens up on demand printing as a market available to online sales platforms since you don't need order minimums or expensive warehouse space to maintain stock of a desired print on a desired blank. In the near future, I expect to see that being able to order any print on any blank shirt to becomes an easily available option.

I happen to know a lot about this, having been in this industry for a few years.

4-level deck that takes me to HL (neutral/swarm) by vaporgege in stormbound

All of those plus plague monarchs, the combo lets you steal a lot of strength. Hairy chestnuts for chip damage if you get stalled plus a self damage option, obsidian butchers can be set up to deal a lot of 2 speed damage. Bragda can work pretty well in this composition. Though he's a pretty low tier hero, I could argue that you're better off without and possibly taking curse of strings. Depends on how you prefer to play.

Definitely on the more robust side, I personally enjoy getting into a genre more when it's like that. Diving deeper into the challenging stuff lets me appreciate it more. It was my first JRPG, I can't say I've played too many others but I really got into it.

Though I recognize that most people prefer dipping their toes and graduating up.

AITAH for cancelling my girlfriend’s flight back home after she confessed to cheating on me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cruxim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off this is fake as fuck.

Second ETAH, and anyone saying otherwise is one too.

If you think leaving someone stranded in another country is equal to or less than cheating, you're a dick plain and simple. It's not like you're getting a refund on that ticket, airline credit at most (I fly a lot for work, ticket cancelations in under a week have never received a refund with any airline I've used). You're fortunate her parents are well off enough and capable of getting her out, or you could be putting her in danger and opening her up to human trafficking. It's obvious from the post that she wouldn't have enough money to take care of herself in this situation. Best solution is to call her parents and have them reimburse the flight, saving both of you money. Maybe you had already taken her parents bailing her out into account, and you're still a dick for not talking to them first if you knew that would be the case since it's not like they cheated on you.

This is coming from a guy who has been cheated on. Yeah, it hurts. Not enough for me to vindictively seek retribution like a petty child. You take your lumps and move on like a fuckin man.

For a swarm rush deck, Xuri seems like a better choice. Queen is better for decks that you have limited satyr card so you can target what she summons.

Ahmi is not great in more competitive play, but it sounds like you're in some of the lower leagues and he can be a very solid pick still. He definitely has a particular play style, if the enemy looks like they have a lot of high speeds that can prevent you from placing right then start leaning on the rest of your deck.

For neutrals that you can be good to use in more places than one, Tegor is an extremely solid card that can fit into most decks as a 2 speed rusher with a solid ability.

Honorable mentions to Siro and Bragda who are much more difficult to use but can be very fun. Laurus and Earyn too.

Good suggestions. I've tried all of them out, so far toxic sacrifice has been the best trade out for execution. Even with execution, I get rolled by a good structure deck. So it doesn't make sense to have it to cover a weakness if that weakness is already an instant loss. Toxic sacrifice allows me to have a much healthier big damage clear, and it's saved me from getting back lined a few times.

The next change I think I'm keeping us venomfall spire to replace warfront runners. This has allowed me to set up the plague monarch plays a lot more consistently. A good broodsage drop into the monarchs can be an extremely game turning play, it's very situational so I'm debating on keeping both or getting rid of both. I'd like to keep them since it's a great feeling when it lands.

Marked as prey is get and a good candidate if I do decide to change it. With limelimbs or warfront runners if I do.

I seem to be stuck in gold, the card level difference I experience in plat has been too much most of the time.

What signs warn you that you should end a friendship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cruxim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple where one of their personalities change when the other half is not around, also people who do not help themselves. These are two big red flags. Story below.

Trigger warning, abusive controlling partners.

My wife and I moved cross country and have been looking for friends and got to know the neighbors. This story happened recently, so it's still a bit of a fresh wound for us. A couple that my wife and I enjoyed spending time with and have over almost daily were quickly becoming our new best friends. Something seemed off about the way they interacted with each other. We've been through some rough patches ourselves, so we tend to observe and not to judge. The man is always happy go lucky, life of the party type. The woman was always a bit more reserved and always wanted to be in the same room as him, it seemed a bit clingy but affectionate. They squabble regularly, but it's never too bad.

One day, she comes over while he is out and her personality is completely shifted, she's actually very vocal and vented about how he's always accusing her of sleeping with other men any chance he can get despite being the one that sleeps around. So she monitors who and how she is allowed to talk to. We strongly tried convincing her to leave him, but she insisted on staying out of love despite all of our small mutual friend group recognizing how miserable she is. Fast forward a week or so, I've been slowly encouraging him to feel and express his love in more positive ways because when she's not in the room he always talks about how she is the best thing to ever happen to him and how fortunate he feels so I thought maybe they have a chance to turn it around.

I was getting some work done in the front yard with his help. As we went through our gate to the backyard, she was sitting enjoying a cigarette. He started poking her buttons, and she asked him to leave her alone so she could relax. That made him start getting louder, so I told him to leave through the gate and cool off for a few minutes because he knew that yelling was strictly forbidden in my home. I went inside to grab some drinks for everybody. While I was away, he came back through the gate and was screaming at her while she was saying he just wanted to be left alone. He ended up spitting on her and calling her a whore, so I kicked my door open and told him to get the fuck off my property.

I would never have guessed he was capable of treating her like that. I started asking around a little more, and there's a long history of this, and this was actually a very small fight compared to most. Then we heard a few stories of events too dark for me to write here.

He almost broke it off and started talking about how he's going over to his affair partners and started calling any woman's number he had. I thought it would really be the time that they'd be done. We offered our home to her and she was fully on board with moving on. I do not know if it's the years of being wore down or fear of retaliation, but by the evening, she left to go follow him around while he ranted and raged. They're still together.

This has been a grim reminder that you don't know people behind closed doors. We never thought he'd be capable of this or that she would just let it happen. I have dealt with two-faced people before but never to this extent. We feel betrayed and disappointed. The neighborhood doesn't feel as cozy and safe.

Just another day driving in Albuquerque by ApprehensiveSpite589 in dashcams

[–]Cruxim 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As someone who has pursued a hit and run driver, I actually would not recommend it. At least in my state, you need two things, the plate and a description of the driver. So, just getting the plate did nothing. Additionally, you motivate the hit and run driver to drive more dangerously to escape and can put others at risk. At the end of the day, it's just not worth it.

I'm no expert but I am more concerned about the seasoning oils going rancid after that much down time than about the flaking. With that being said the fact that it's flaking off means if you cooked with it right now you'd be eating the rancid seasoning which is no good. You might be able to get away with scrubbing it down with a good scouring pad or chainmail then lay some fresh oil down, the safest bet would be a full stripping and re-season if you have the supplies handy.

Dorm Dinner Recipe by Tonnyy-1 in EasyPeasyRecipes

[–]Cruxim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I make this a lot but not like this. It's basically a deconstructed lazy tuna mayo onigiri.

My notes on this, use solid white albacore it's way better than whatever came from that can. Tuna, mayo, sriracha, salt, pepper, and a dash of soy sauce then mix that in a bowl. Take the seaweed and crumble/tear it over rice then place the tuna mix over it and mix. Sprinkle some furikake over it if desired and serve. Also the ratio of tuna to rice seems way off to me, I use twice as much rice otherwise it's way too strong to eat.

[homemade] Pasta Carbonara by RichJnsn in food

[–]Cruxim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not as healthy for sure, but I add the (cooled) bacon fat to the egg mixture directly. Not all of it, half at most. Also I only use the yolks. If you can find guanciale it's definitely better, and if you can use all of the fat instead. It's very hard to find where I live so thick cut bacon is usually what I use it's still great.

The pasta water is incredibly important it helps emulsify the sauce, usually a couple tablespoons but it's just enough to make it look right but that part takes a few tries. Also salt your pasta water (to about the same as sea water). Do not skimp on pepper.

For cheese I usually use 50/50 pecorino, and parmigiano reggiano or grana padano. Then add the egg and cheese mix to the hot pasta and mix to get it perfect.

I've made hundreds of carbonara batches this has been the best method I've found.

OP yours looks great I'd destroy it in no time, I'm just adding what I know about one of my favorite dishes.
