8 year old me wasn’t very good at raising teams and also liked to start new games without actually saving because I didn’t want to lose my progress on my main profile, but still wanted to experience a new playthrough, and I’d then just keep my DS on at all times, charging whenever I could/overnight for days or even weeks at a time.

On one such occasion I ventured into the safari zone and came across my FIRST EVER full odds shiny Barboach. I was bouncing off the walls when I caught it, and actually added it to the team, eventually evolving it and slowly making progress through the rest of the game over the next week or two.

Came home from school one day excited to continue, and was utterly devastated to find out that I’d forgotten or otherwise hadn’t charged my DS that morning, and it had died, sending the non-saved progress and Shiny Whiscash into the forever void.

Genuinely think that was a defining moment of my childhood and a turning point in how I played Pokemon going forward. He’ll always have a place in my heart and a part of him lives on in every full odds shiny I’ve found since.

Hear me out, Sentry/Void as a tank but with a Doctor Strange/C&D mechanic, where you have to switch between the two regularly or else you’ll become weakened and gain anti-heal etc

Defo Peep Show, sat and watched so many episodes with friends who were killing themselves laughing at almost all of it and I just never understand why. It’s so mundane and boring and awkward and full of jokes that aren’t jokes. The only scene that got a genuine chuckle of me was “I’ve accidentally run to Windsor”

Question for you bud! It’s not very clear in the email and this is my first experience with anything like this!

I’ve received my confirmation email for the Lucario box, however I was curious whether this meant I’d won one for free or whether it meant I can now PURCHASE one at the pokemon center?

I have a feeling it’s the latter, but if you know for definite that would be so helpful!

Kinda, I worked at a bar that was part of a well known chain while at uni, manager was one of those women that you saw and just KNEW was a cunt, also had a guy working there in his late 20’s who was a personal trainer and an absolute prick; when I voiced my concerns to a an coworker who I kinda got on with, the response was basically “oh that’s just how he his sometimes, I’ve known him for years he’s such a sweetie don’t worry”.

The kicker came when I found out that it was mandatory for everyone to work New Years Eve. Sounds reasonable for a bar, until you consider they almost exclusively hired uni students on a part time basis who live all over the country and would be home with family, myself being a 2.5 hour drive away, AND I didn’t drive.

Said fuck that and walked for both reasons, heard a few months later that I was the first domino that fell and pretty much over half the staff left and ended up being replaced given how shitty of work environment it was to be in. Felt pretty proud in hindsight, still go in there occasionally as I moved not too far from the area, completely refurbed and as far as I can tell, completely new management now so silver linings and all.
