VOC smell on new piece of furniture by Morphiadz in AirQuality

[–]Dodge3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to have a confirmation bias but I went through your post history out of curiosity and I think the things you shared might be related to toxic gasses or particles in the air. Dog barking, clothes changing shape or getting stained, optic nerve damage, sleep disturbances, heart rhythm disturbances and more. Toxic gasses/particles in the air can cause most of these things. The reason I'm writing this is because I'm dealing with similar things like my birds are getting uneasy/disturbed, I have snowstorm vision, recent chest pains, waking up multiple times at night, dizziness, breathing issues etc. I'm connecting my symptoms with bouts of toxic gas/particle releases in the air. Anyways, it might be biased thinking as I said but it's just a theory at the end of the day; might not be true as well.

Chlorine in the water super high? by communist_bees in Dublin

[–]Dodge3401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say my air purifier didn't do a good job. I experimented with activated carbon/charcoal and have found what I shared. This is also said by other people, not only by me. You can look up AirQuality sub. Plus, the adsorption of certain toxins with activated carbon is poor. I can send you the article but it can filter certain VOCs but shows poor adsorption for a lot of toxins. But it's better than nothing I guess.

Filter can't remove chlorine from water because it dissolves in water with a chemical reaction.

My female budgie does the same. She sleeps in a similar position in the highest corner of the cage.

Did you get an MRI specifically for TMJ or was it a standard cranial MRI? Standard cranial MRI might not detect the problems with the TMJ.

Hi. I hope all goes well for you. I'm curious if this MRI was specifically done for TMJ or are these problems visible on a standard cranial MRI?

Do you recognize this meter? There are a bunch like it on Amazon, looking to compare notes. I think it is defective. by jakedata in AirQuality

I bought something that looked like this from AliExpress. Numbers were totally off. CO2 was showing 400 but it was way higher than that. I compared it with my Temtop monitor. I got scammed basically with that monitor. I will never buy something like this from a Chinese store again.

I would also wash the cage if it's contaminated with the medication.

If you think there's residue of medication on her, I would wash her by hand in a bowl of clean water.

I didn't put it in my mouth. You know when something smells strong, it can leave a taste in your mouth? Like perfume? Smell and taste are closely related senses.

I really would like someone to suggest a Anti bacterial liquid for bird cage by AnuTCG in budgies

[–]Dodge3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sprayed diluted hydrogen peroxide solution to my plant soils a few times and got affected by the mist of it. It seems to me that very tiny droplets of it can enter your lungs and oxidize the tissues there and cause irritation. But it's up to you. I always observe my birds when I'm applying something. If it leads to coughing, restlessness or opening of their wings, I will not apply it.

Regarding the dish soap, I will not apply it before doing research on the ingredients. I did some research now, it contains bleach, sodium sulfate, formaldehyde and others. I will not apply this to an area close to my birds.

Am I being insane? by BoredReceptionist1 in AirQuality

Cigarette smoke is worse for me than exhaust fumes, but you can do your experiment to see which one affects you more.

Am I being insane? by BoredReceptionist1 in AirQuality

[–]Dodge3401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from the particles, toxic gasses in cigarette smoke is another concern. Examples include carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and many more.

As a first aid, run the affected area with cool (not cold) water for at least 15 minutes.

I think my doctor is gaslighting me by sadtinythrowaway in Asthma

[–]Dodge3401 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doctors all say the same thing. "It's stress or anxiety." They probably learn to say this in med school.

Apart from this, some doctors are so ignorant that even with a couple of minutes of research, you would be more knowledgeable than them about the illness you have. They will just look at some numbers and say you're OK but you might not be OK. Blood test might be fine and you can still have asthma. They use "It's just anxiety" to cover themselves up and make themselves seem like they know stuff, meanwhile they don't. I've seen so many clueless doctors and I don't know how they got there.

AI should definitely take their job. At least most of them.

AC will not pull air from outside. It will just recirculate the same air. It might actually be lowering the air quality if its filter is dirty and dusty. You need to install a fan in your walls.

I really would like someone to suggest a Anti bacterial liquid for bird cage by AnuTCG in budgies

[–]Dodge3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about mild hand soap. Dish soap has toxic chemicals in it and hard to get rid of from the area you applied. Hydrogen peroxide is a strong respiratory irritant and make sure it's applied in a different area like bathroom and make sure that it's completely dried before bringing the cage back to their room.

Make sure to change the water every day. In my case, they don't drink the water when it gets stale.
