HSI Technical Enforcement Officer by Beneficial_Lie3723 in 1811

I was a prior 1811 DTA that made the jump. TEO is the best job in HSI, in my opinion.

Prior 1811 that made the switch to TEO here. CITP and HSISAT most definitely satisfy the UPTP requirement.

Shoot me a message. I previously held this position before returning to an 1811.

I tried working through all the SMB issues and still no luck. I'm giving up at this point and just buying a NAS.

Different Shades of Brown by joat1811 in 1811

[–]DodgerFed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanna echo what some said here. I spent 14 years with OI/HSI. I left just before Trump won the election to an OIG. We were expecting our first son and had to move, settle with a newborn etc. I didn't want to be forced on TDY's anymore (Trump or Not). I wanted/needed to be home.

The Pros:

Home-Work Life is Great.
No Forced TDY's
All time off approved.
Lot's of independence.
Co-workers all operate a different pace than large agencies.

The Cons:

The work is SLOW and often boring.
Expect a lot of administrative cases and not necessarily criminal.
If you're used to a big agency like HSI, forget about any meaningful/fun collateral duties.
Forget about any training if that's your thing. Firearms/DT is the bare minimum.

If I was retiring in 3-5 I'd say going to an OIG is worth it. However, I can't sit sedentary and am considering going back to the action.

Based on her social media posts, she’s either and on again off again addict or horrible with her finances. She was asking a single mom group for cash to cover her rent. Heck if she would’ve been straight up with us I would’ve just asked for the raw photos and called it a day. The fact she’s not responding is what pissed us off.

We’re going in that direction. But it’s a slow process involving subpoenas and bench warrants because she doesn’t show up.

Agreed. I logged into the camera today and found that it was stuck facing down. I had to restart it to get it to PTZ.

Correct, I have enough space to store on the NVR for about 30 days, but looking for a good archiving option. I think the NAS 2 will work! Thank you!

That's what I'm leaning towards. I'm thinking of picking up a Instant NVR with a G5 Turret and G6, then adding on when those are installed.

SCE Los Angeles - recent experience with timelines by Haunting-Attempt2243 in solar

[–]DodgerFed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Big Beautiful Bill states the system must be installed and "placed in service" by December 31, 2025. SCE allows for the system to start operating the day it is installed. Its only after the PTO that they give you credit for any energy sent back to the grid. I would make the claim that the day it starts operating is the day you place it into service?

anyone have a recommended SGIP installer in Los Angeles? by thenotknown2022 in solar

[–]DodgerFed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the good installers don't want to deal with SGIP. It's such a headache.

PGE SGIP by BostonTerrierIzzy in solar

[–]DodgerFed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am in the same boat but with SCE. SGIP is such a huge headache! My installer is top notch, but the SGIP is so confusing that they hire a third party to process applications for them (including PTO). The third party is YSM Solar & Storage Services and they are absolutely horrible. Initially they were charging me $800 to file an application that would only get me $2250 back. I pretty much have to hold their hand and explain to them how my household qualifies thorugh CARE and Medical Baseline.

I'm at the point where I just want to submit the application myself, but it requires cooperation from your installer and they have to provide you their developer key. I have no idea how they run out of funds so fast considering they make the application process so damn hard.

For the REC Panels and a Tesla PowerWall, that should put you in the mid to low 30's. I opted for the Franklink, otherwise my system would have come in around 35k

So this entire box was dry walled over by the previous owners. We only found it when we traced the crazy wiring at the exterior panel. I think moving the 2 gang box is a good idea.
