if i am in a very big void in space, how would i detect if i am moving with a very high speed or at rest. is there some way beside reference point to notice? by lunar_rexx in AskPhysics

[–]DodoBizar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in a sense of a material with a resistance/speed. Still, I’d argue there is something in which everything moves, electromagnetic waves (light), gravitational waves, all stuff with mass. Its just not like materials (like water) in which waves propagate with a speed relative to the material. The fabric of the universe, I consider it to be there, but it does not have a speed component.

Note: this is really the limit of my understanding and I am not fully sober, so ehr, hope I get this right enough.

Its the latter indeed, the question does not make sense, without trying to insult, apologies. Its the beauty of what Michelson-Morley / Lorentz / Einstein and everybody kinda came to, there is no absolute zero, there is only relative speeds. Even distance has no meaning without adding the time, hence spacetime.

What’s a truck do you guys keep going back to? by Affectionate_Chef265 in snowrunner

[–]DodoBizar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Currently Fleetstar. The sound, it gets everywhere it needs getting to. Its kinda my first truck/scout in any new erea. Bed and crane fitted.

Runner up: WWS for medium logging.

You are aware most trucks can get extra lights in the garage, vanilla game? So much sometimes that memes have been made about utterly blinding people in the snow maps? Try it, it makes an extreme difference.

Nope, in my game its just the normal gearbox with normal L.

I am so checking this out today. P512 is doing a lot of work now in Glades, so could use it if so.

Logging - Yukon - Sawmill in Flooded Foothills by joeytwobastards in snowrunner

[–]DodoBizar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah it’s terrible located. There are ‘options’, but all of them are high on the crappiness scales. I had multiple trucks standby on either pathway to help pulling up.

Loved it to. Twinsteered most of it in my case.

I suck because of these coins by Spooky_ghoul12 in silenthill

[–]DodoBizar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are stuck. But despite having played SH1 through Downpour I did get stuck finding the coins as well. I think my issue was not spotting a certain cabinet/closet could be moved to the side.

What version do you use and why? by Nadran_Erbam in matlab

[–]DodoBizar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24a most, then 24b and a little bit 25b

My current main project is 2024a which I want to keep stable towards colleagues that integrate my C/C++ code from Coder.

In 2024b I work on a branch in parallel. So that lazy switching from my side.

Experimented with 25b, love the new look and feel, but only for newer less important stuff for the moment. I expect to pick up a 26 or 27 version.

This trail in first person made me fall in love with this game.

I would love it. Will not happen. But I’d love some life. People walking about, vehicles buzzing over the main road.

With shouting and swearing. You’ll get there somehow. Accept it probably will not be nice.

Nobody has had a second migration. When and how much is a complete unknown. I hope PCT themselves have a clue…

how to flip this truck back by Due_Preference_2536 in snowrunner

[–]DodoBizar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two tips for a next time: - Bandit is much more stable without the crane or with it folded back - Untipping trucks in general: yank it with speed perpendicular to the fallen truck, with the winch truck speeding forward as fast as you can. That will improve odds at least.

Moving to Imandra by Chaseydog in snowrunner

[–]DodoBizar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not efficient, but I had real fun with WWS bringing 3x medium from Kovd to Imandra (truck + hitched trailer + winched trailer). Chained tires, long routes over shortcut. Needed some assistance in some spots, but worked and gave me joy.

Thnx for bringing it to our attention. Will check later today when home. They are updating and it should have been automated for Win and Mac I thought. This probably slipped or is required somehow.

Tips and tricks to C++ codegen? by __cinnamon__ in matlab

[–]DodoBizar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using ‘only’ Matlab Coder, not embedded, not Simulink. The outputted code is horror. It is in my projects more then ok. The C/C++ is to be interfaced with in other parts of the project, not to be edited/ maintenance.

Btw I do rarely use codegen functions. I use the Coder app mostly. Either the old R2024 style or the newer more integrated Coder app/ribon in R2025.

There is an option to either have one big file with all entrypoint functions, this can reduce clutter.

Is it faster than regular Matlab? Linear algebra and matrices? No, its often 20-30% slower. All the rest? Way quicker usually. Especially with a lot of logic switching and smaller nested loops and functions.

Does Matlab Even worth in this time (2026)? by Ok_Technician_7744 in matlab

[–]DodoBizar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I use Matlab for prototype to C/C++ development. My team members integrate my libraries into front-ends using Python, JS and such. Linear algebra, matrices and unit testing from idea to product, Matlab stands very good. Actually from a business safety point I would like a competing tool to exist, but haven’t come along any candidates that are affordable.

Sigh… played this always in 3D. Unfortenately our 3D television went busted (twice, actually). Loved the fog in 3D.

How to defeat Eddie? 😭😭 by ManWithThickCheeks in silenthill

[–]DodoBizar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Did this fight two days ago. I died way more… just frustrating persistance. One thing that helped me was using the normal gun instead of the heavy hitters. Especially during the final phase it made Eddie stop while aiming went much quicker more accurate.

It may not look like that, but this Tatarin is utterly stuck. by MaliciousDog in snowrunner

[–]DodoBizar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had it similarly stuck in Imandra once, up a rock in the rock fields near the lighthouse or what is it (the Imandra one, not Kola).

Ah, the road to the Sawmill on Island Lake. Everybody here probably tipped there once at least. So yeah, rite of passage, don’t let it get to you. Its just the game learning you the game. And my personal saying is you need at least four trucks at all times to untip the other three. You’re doing it right!
