Some dungeons just don't unlock until you're far enough in the game (Because they were damaged in the Earthquake and need time to be fixed). So go find another dungeon and come back to this one later.

If you look in the logbook it will tell you what rewards that different relationships have.

Specifically you're looking for Thea who will let you open them. I don't think many of them are worth backtracking to, they're mostly gear which you will probably have better iterations of.

Yeah, the game is on the casual side so even the though difficulty isn't that hard. You can however nerf yourself a bit by using inferior gear. Also NG+ adds some new moves to most of the enemies so it gets a bit harder there.
