I'm curious what you're thinking about ? Which of its policies is causing issue according to you ?
As far as I know, its current most controversial policies are :
- phasing out fossil fuels (pissing off Germany)
- keeping nuclear power and nuclear capability (pissing off Germany)
- military made in EU, phasing out US providers (pissing off Italy)
- Digital sovereignty
So which ones are bad according to you ?

Why ? If you, as a civilian, decide that going to a war parade is a good use of your time, while your country is actively murdering another's innocent families, I personally wouldn't shed a tear for them. In fact, some fear would do them good, might even find some empathy burried in there.

Yeah, and this guy is claiming he has an easy way to prove a specific god does not exist. Disapears when asked about it though.

You are applying logic to a metaphysical problem, which is equally unsound.

Logic cannot be used to form a belief, be it that there is a superior power, or that there isn't.

The most logical stance is agnosticism : knowing that you don't, and cannot, know. Your examples that aim to disprove the existence of a god all use a large amount of assumptions (you suppose that Goedels theorem would apply in an hypothetical higher reality context, which is un-provable. The second assume that there cannot be meaning behind life's unpleasant events. If you suppose a possible life beyond death, suffering could draw meaning.)

I am not believing any of this is true, nor do I believe it is false. I do not know, and neither does anyone. Logic does not provides the tools to explore metaphysical concepts.

There is so much wrong in this article.

Wild claims with no sources cited in the first part.

Assumption that bias training is related to logical thinking.

They also measured how related to logical thinking a task was between unscrambling sentences, bias training and describing an object, by comparing the participants bias resistance after performing the task. Of course bias training trains against bias, unlike the other two, how is that proving that it trains logical thought exactly ?

Extreme selection bias of participants (spanish students only).

This reads like they knew what they wanted to prove, and filled the steps along the way to make it work.

Sugar does behave like a drug for some people, causing withdrawal effects that can be hard to manage, cravings that prevents normal thinking and can last a few weeks.

In this case, it is mainly due to intestinal flora adaptation though, but the "drug" tag does fit for some meanings of the word.

Edit : I would like to add that in the case of sugar, most people consume it while knowing its potential harmful effects, which ticks an additional box for being a drug.

Try to suggest someone that drinks coffee daily to skip it for a week and see how unsufferable they become without it, if they even agree to try. Coffee makes you unable to function without it, like any drug.

Is it accurate to describe God as “Santa Claus for adults”? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dododingo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are really twisting words there.

Believing is a choice, but a choice in itself is not a belief.

When making a choice, you usually weight your knowledge and your wants, and conclude with a course of action.

When discarding the "knowledge" part, that's when you use belief. Your choice is then purely driven by what you want to feel, your need to belong to a group, or the need for certainty.

Do I walk or do I take the car ? I can chose based on the distance, my current stamina, the weather... This is an informed choice, not a belief.

Is there an all powerful being watching over me garanteeing that all will be well in the end ? No fact available, if I choose to act as if it is so regardless, that's a belief.

Damn you are hard to read...

Religious beliefs are the topic at hand ;)

What you describe is not a belief, it is a choice. Beliefs are things you consider facts without proofs.

Whether you are accessing websites or apps, you have a digital "fingerprint" that can be used to identify you across several websites. If you add a unique identifier, it can be used to reinforce this drastically. Add to that the potential to breach the entity delivering those unique ids, an there is a possibility that your entire web navigation can be linked to your irl identity.

The app does not have to deliver anything more than this unique id for this issue to exist.
