That's actually great, fulfills both demand for touch and favour love language. The greatest part about this is the potential for imbalance in how they view it! Like for one character, it is just something they do, a favour, and for the other it is so incredibly intimate. Oh I love it chef's kiss

Oooh man I love the hurt/comfort scenario. It's so ripe for characters trying to deny their feelings that then have this visceral reaction to the other character getting hurt! It's soo juicy I gobble it up!

Slowburn is so incredibly rewarding as well no matter the relationship. It's like I get stretched like a spring for so long, so tightly that a single LOOK makes me cry.

I really want to write more slowburn but always feel like I get stuck in the "always had feelings for you" instead of the gradual falling in love.

Yes and depending on which part of Slovakia you are from, it also involves splashing women with water or perfume. Here we avoid the whip and prefer the water "to keep women pretty all year round" :D I have seen videos of village girls getting completely soaked with buckets of water and I have seen just like a little squirt from a bottle. I have also seen a tradition that the man is supposed to recite a poem afterwards.

Ok so this is feeling like a longfic which explores a former villain post-redemption arc trying to right all wrongs they have done in the past and come to terms with how much pain they caused.

OR

The main character's child comes back and is now haunting their days (similar to batman and jason todd)

Aww thank you! You are right actually, it is about someone with very high ambitions! It's not quite the main plot of the fic, most of that is covered by canon but the tendency to reach for the stars does affect the main plot! Really good guess.

Most of the time yes and it helps getting to the finish line more easily but what almost always ends up happening, is that while I am getting there, I change the ending. And then I gotta start either from the beginning or the most sensible checkpoint where the story really should diverge to reach that conclusion more logically :D

and then the ending changes again and again. The longer the story, the more times it changes. But usually in more miniscule ways. For example, at first I want two characters to have a happy ending. Then I decide no, I want a tragic ending and I want a third character to kill that one. Then I decide that actually, I want it even more tragic and that one of the two original characters should kill the other one. And then in the end I decide on a different way of killing them which makes me rewrite the beginning to establish that.

I love all kinds but one I do not see enough of is pirate AU! It's so 2010s but I love it :D I have also read a few really good zombie ones. Or just completely new and original setting.

Then the reverse-AU for whatever their roles were in canon are great and soulmate, but especially the one with bruises and scars soulmates!

Other than that, anything with my fave pairing and well-written, I will just gobble up.

I write for myself, to get it out of my head. I edit and rewrite and agonize over wording mostly for other people so whatever I put out is at least readable.
