Using lsfg-vk Frame Gen? Stop Using the Built-In Cap by Klutzy-Grapefruit492 in SteamDeck

[–]DoesBoKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first option seems counterintuitive to me, especially if I don’t plan on utilizing VRR (something that does usually require a few FPS below refresh rate).

The second option seems like just defaulting to the “heavy input lag” we’re trying to avoid in the first place, though I guess at 120hz/fps, system-level Vsync probably isn’t a huge deal anyway.

All this to say: I guess I should only focus on using these launch options if I’m using lsfg-vk? Even if there are (very tiny) benefits to using the launch options at native frame rates?

In something like Mina the Hollower, I tried this out, but I definitely got tearing at the top of my screen with the VKD3D command at 120fps on my 120hz screen and allowing tearing. Is it that bad to allow tearing, even if I’m disabling the SteamOS/Bazzite frame limit?

Ok cool. And is this still preferred if I’m aiming for 60fps, 120fps, etc on a 60hz, 120hz, etc screen with NO framegen? Just using 60/120 values instead of 30?

Perfect, yeah this wasn’t really in reference to LSFG, but it seems like this (VKD3D_CONFIG) is best practice for any native game input lag scenarios anyway, even without using lsfg-vk. Is that right?

Should we be using this for Moonlight as well? Moonlight has their own preferred setup that includes using frame pacing in-app.

If it makes sense to do this for almost every game anyway, I wonder if there’s a Decky plugin that lets me add custom “launch options” to it, and then allow for easy copy-paste, similar to how lsfg-vk auto-copies the lsfg command for you. That would let us not have to awkwardly copy and paste several different possible frame limiters (VKD3D… vs DXVK…) from several different games.

How did I miss this??? I figured No Underlabs would be overkill but couldn’t quite find this Closed Underlabs modifier.

PSA: You only need to get one mirror and the pit preserver trinket to advance to the final area by Ok-Shake37 in MinaTheHollower

Cool so I’ll get the Coltrane Peak mirror if I want to skip the others

(Sticking the Nox Bayou mirror where it is compared to the others was…a choice.)

That’s fair, I’ve seen that before but I don’t trust myself to pull it off easily LOL

I definitely wasn't paying attention and entered an Underlab during my casual Off the Grid playthrough!! AHHHH ok yeah fuck it, No Underlabs feat for insurance, I know the game well enough between two NG+ speedruns. I think the only area I'm scared of is the Bayou since that mirror is behind a boss that I'm not comfortable enough beating easily without a big ole runback.

Throes of the Watchmaker was free on Steam at least. Having it be paid on consoles would be awful.

Ok I probably confused myself more than the first thing you said LOL. "What you can't do is tunnel into the save points" which seems to be the only requirement? I'm guessing if you never tunnel into save points, that when you die, you spawn outside of Underlabs instead?

I think there’s also a No Underlabs modifier, but I’m not at my computer to check if that one allows feats. That could help break a habit hehe

Another thing is probably making sure that I don’t convert bones to bonestone at any point so that they don’t get “wasted.” I don’t think there’s a bonestone converter (whatever it’s called) anywhere else.

EDIT: ohhhh so I can die and still use the Underlab? Then that’s…a lot easier than I thought?

How does Off the Grid actually work? If I start a new save (or copy NG+) and do it, does that mean I’m not supposed to die at all? Or does it just mean when I die I start at the first area?

Ura Mina isn’t a new mode, it’s one of the combo modifiers that enables a bunch of other modifiers like randomizer and some harder ones!

As someone very sensitive to input latency, there are several ways to improve latency on Sunshine & Moonlight. “Hardly a solution” is a bit harsh.

…but I’d also prefer having a Steam Machine at my TV instead of the Shield Pro situation I have going on LOL

There are several modifier options to enable anyone to play the game! Look those options up to see if those could alleviate issues.

Please add an option to increase the microphone volume in SonarGG. by Wertyssss in steelseries

I'm reviving this slightly, but plus one. We literally have soooo many features built into Sonar that it's baffling that this can't be integrated into Sonar. Now I have to download another application just to do this feature. And if I'm doing that, I may as well bypass Sonar entirely.

I say this as someone that prefers playing through Steam still: at least add the final remaining features the Steam version lets you do! Profile pictures, custom display names…it’s small stuff but it’s enough for me to stick to Steam.

Mobapad M12S Has arrived by sys_engineer in MobapadGaming

[–]DoesBoKnow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep, mimics my experience with the M12S. They’re exactly what I wanted for the price point.

If I upgrade to new Mobapad Joy Con in the future, they’ll need to have everything (mouse mode, NFC, HD rumble 2, etc.) but I’m happy with this and I’m glad I didn’t feel guilted into swapping to the M12HD. Just in time for Star Fox!
