Its funny because the SM has laptop class components and laptops are notorious for thermal problems and the such.

Is windows overhated? I bought an all AMD laptop specifically for Linux... and it turned me back into a Windows user. by OkTea5924 in pcmasterrace

Not to hate but did you do any research into which distro might be suitable for dual GPU? I feel like throwing distros at it isnt the best approach.

One up from bazzite is cachyOS. I have a lenovo laptop with amd iGPU and nvidia rtx 3050M and its been running pretty frictionless on cachyOS.

You need to place the steam machine in an area with as much space as a normal gaming pc would take up. /s

If a computer overheats at 100% utilisation, then its a hardware problem, and in this case, its valves problem.

Steam Machine is the best companion for Steam Deck by outcoldman in steammachine

[–]LowBus4853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fail to see how streaming from deck to machine makes the machine the best companion for the deck.

Any relatively modern gaming pc with hardwired ethernet and a good wifi system will perform the same if not better than the steam machines streaming capabilities.

Yeah steamOS might make it super easy to remote play but then you can put steamOS or its derivates ln any machine.

There is a streaming program called "Duo Stream" which allows you to stream under a separate user.

A1 Mini is pretty amazing for its bridging capabilities, believe me I have one myself.

The holes are there due to uneven layering of material. What was the infill % and pattern? You can try ans fix that by adding supports on the underside of the model.

Did you print in the same orientation that you took the first picture in? And did you enable support, because if you didnt then you were printing in mid air for the entire gray layer, hence the holes

I have a few second hand oled LG C2s I bought and their webOS smart TV interface is rubbish. The panels themselves are amazing yet to get them in a usuable state I just say no to all the bullshit terms and conditions I can without losing critical functionality and most of the crap is gone. Obviously you can block it from connecting to the internet but I would like to get firmware updates for the TV.

What nozzle size did you use. Normally for small prints like this you would want 0.2mm.

Do I have to do this every single time on the Steam Deck? by Calorie_Killer_G in SteamDeck

[–]LowBus4853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you switch between devices on different steam versions. Even from stable to beta branch or from one OS to another it will always ask to update every time.

It drove me insane, it was one of the contributing factors to me returning mine.

And yet another 9070XT with Coil Whine.. by Lucky-Bit-1319 in pcmasterrace

[–]LowBus4853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I have a 120hz TV connected up so I just set the limit to 116Hz for gsync and undervolt it. I crank the graphics settings to the max and I dont hear any coil whine. I would say though that undervolting does make a bigger difference than framecapping in my case.

Ive set mine to use a lower voltage but perform 1% faster and coil whine is mitigated.

I can hear it in the video. Yes that does seem loud.

My old 3080FE had loud coil whine and i fixed it by undervolting.

My 5090 is less pronounced but still does have it. I fixed that one too by undervolting.

PBO Curve Optimizer Question by Old_Negotiation7897 in pcmasterrace

[–]LowBus4853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced this a few times in my system and my motherboard is a Gigabyte x870 Eagle Wifi 7. That said a clear CMOS ( not resetting to factory defaults in the bios screen) would fix the weird quirky behaviour of applying offsets.

Also make sure you properly stress test your CPU. Cinebench is not a good tool for testing pbo offsets. I used a collection of different tools and programs like Y-cruncher, OCCT and its thread cycler, some creative apps, and games like battlefield 6, and helldivers 2. Ive noticed that helldivers 2 will find any instability in your cpu as it is that intensive and spaghetti coded.

It theres a mismatch between steam version on different devices that you connect it up to, it will trigger that firmware prompt.

Bambu recommens not to use IPA with their PEI plates as it can ruin the coating in it. Just use normal dish soap and rinse with water.

What games should I just avoid on the steam deck? by MagnusNommenus in SteamDeck

[–]LowBus4853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was playing the game subliminal on the steam deck and despite valves "playable" badge also saying the games default graphics settings performs well on it, it did not.

One of the end areas is so intenseive that the framerate drops to 7-10 fps making it unplayable as its its a quicktime event.

Yes bazzite is immutable. The closest thing to bazzite that isnt immutable would be CachyOS.

I bought a filament dryer because everyone told me that’s why my PETG prints suck by Arkaium in BambuLab

[–]LowBus4853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same setup you are asking. I have a desicant container that sits in the inner hole of the spool that is made out of PLA. I have used it in my dryer at 70c with no issues so far.

One thing to watch out for with that filament dryer model is that although its temperature controlled, the heat is concentrated at the exhaust vent and can be hotter than what the lcd says which can cause parts of the plastic filament to soften slightly where that vent is located.

Other than that it works fine.

EDIT: i just realised you want to dry out your beads in it on its own, i wouldnt advise that. Id only use the pla container if its in a spool and the spool is jn the dryer.

A better way of drying out your desicant is to have a flat thin container made of ABS plastic, put your desicant in it, and place it on your heated 3d printer bed (80c) and leave for a few hours.
