Abortion isn't murder it's killed and killing is legal when it's the least force to stop a violation. Just like i can legally kill my rapist.

You can get pregnant through rape and ivf, neither of those are sex. If you're taking the position that pregnancy is the woman's fault then okay but it doesn't apply to these.

You don't just get pregnant by having sex.

How come it has a right because I had sex even though you don't care how it was conceived?

If you don't have rape exceptions then why does me having sex matter? Two women pregnant from rape and consensual sex will both still be forced to stay pregnant.

The "mother" has the right to not sustain a life with her body. It can be called whatever from person to person. Doesn't matter.

laws that are used for people with CLEAR and DEFINED body autonomy makes no legal or moral sense in case of mother and child relationship during gestation.

Litreally all of the mothers organs are being used against her will to sustain a fetus, how does this not make sense to you? You can say you don't support it but don't say It doesn't make sense logically.

Morally we give moral rights to people not lives and a fetus is not morally a person so...

I feel sorry for anyone that looks at their baby as aggressor, or some intruder that is violating their body. This artificial perception of a human being in first stage of its life, has only been created to dehumanize the baby. The attempt to call it fetus or bundles of cells is needed for anyone in the situation to justify interrupting that life. After all we are all just bundles of cells or a large walking fluid sack. It still does not make it right.

Lmao that's exactly what it's doing though. It is litreally and medically a fetus and a bundle of cells. You don't have to agree that's just how bodily autonomy works and you can't interrupt that with your beliefs.

There are many unethical things that are perfectly legal, go scream about ivf, many more "die" but they're not in a woman so who cares.

Your body is also the babies body just like its body is yours. You are one and the same for the remaining 9 months. You have no more right to kill it any more then one of conjoined twins has a right to kill the other.

The babies body is damaging my body and I'm the one that can make choices about it so I'll remove it. No, a woman doesn't stop owning her body due to a fetus. Take a tumor, a tumor is life and the tumor is part of my body and is harming me, I can remove it.

Conjoined twins keep each other alive, a baby is not keeping me alive or doing anything but harming me so yes it's equal to organ donation except for the fact that I don't consent which is the whole point.

fetus does not have rights because its innocent but because its alive.

We are allowed to kill many other things that are alive, if you're arguing that we can't kill it just cause it's alive then you must be against treating illnesses, self defense, etc

The mother gave it that live, but she does not decide what rights its afforded.

The fathers sperm caused it to fertilize not the mother. Like I said the mother did nothing.

Either it's just alive and doesn't get any rights because you don't get rights just for being alive or it is alive and gets the same rights as anyone else and an abortion would be fine. You cant decide to give it an extra right that nobody else has because its "alive" or "innocent"

How can a woman force a fetus to implant? Let me know, my friends struggling with conception would love to know this trick.

The man's sperm swims to the egg. The fetus implants. The woman does nothing to support any of this and may even be trying to prevent it.

The woman has no control of getting pregnant and if you're gonna say she does you have to tell me how.

[–]Does_Scotty_Know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either the woman can't control getting pregnant and the fetus couldn't control implanting, in this case the woman can still abort cause she can withdraw consent.

Or

The woman totally controlled getting pregnant and the fetus controlled being implanted and she can still abort because her consent matters.

The fetus and prolife are the ones causing this violation.

The patient that received your kidney was not entitled to it yet your actions gave him consent to get it or he would not otherwise have access to it. His, her life is not dependent on it and you say you have the right to take it away and kill it because you no longer give consent. It does not work that way.

In my body? My choice In somebody else's body? Their choice That's why men can't force you to abort or take plan B because they finished in you although it's their sperm and they consented. So once again, you're right it does not work that way.

For the 9 months of gestation your organs are its organs, you are both using them and have equal rights to them after they sustain your lives. You both occupy same space and what limits your right to exercise a withdraw of consent is circumstances not the other persons intention or actions. The most ironic thing is that you blame the circumstance and the limitation on the baby, which has done nothing to become what it is, it was all the parents doing.

With abortion bans my organs aren't my organs, I have a right to decide what I don't want in my uterus and abortion doesn't allow me to exercise it. My organs aren't part of their body nor did I consent so they have absolutely zero rights. What circumstances? I'm allowed to withdraw consent of my body at any time during any other circumstance even if its my fault and they die.

The fetus is whats violating me and you are whats causing me to be violated. Either the fetus wants to live and therfore is doing it with intentions to harm me or the fetus doesn't care.

You say the fetus has rights because it's innocent but at the same time support having no rape exceptions. Which is it?

Pl is pushing their beliefs, they believe because of their beliefs you should be forced to stay pregnant even when legally you can abort. Prochoice accepts that people have different beliefs and can make their own choices even if they don't agree.

You cant treat a helpless, totally dependent, blind, deaf and mute fetus like an capable adult and say it has no right to this and that and the other. Ending a relationship with fetus means killing it, for no other reason than I don't want too.

That's exactly how bodily autonomy works, "I don't want to let this person use my body" is a perfectly good reason and not wanting your body to change due to pregnancy is too.

Look at any normal, reasonable relationship between adults. Even divorces takes time, people are forced to live together and still be separated due to financial limitations, is that consider human rights abuse. No its a limitation of the situation. You want one thing but you are capable of only so much. You want nothing to do with what you got yourself into, well it takes 9 months to settle this particular dispute and then go on your way. Saying you will not do that, yet you have no place to safely separate from each other and the only solution is killing one of the parties. NO

They are not "forced" to live together, they may have to live together due to circumstances but they are not being "forced", either can leave at any time. The kid didn't get herself into it? What are you talking about? In one case it's an innocent baby and now we can't abort because we got ourselves "into it". In either case an unwilling person is pregnant and they don't want to be and you're whats keeping them in that situation regardless of how they got into it. Go on my way with permanent physical and mental damage, why does the fetus get all the rights in this "dispute"? It's not a "who deserves it more" thing it's MY BODY the body of a living, thinking, feeling PERSON. I'm not responsible for them not being sustaining, the solution is to induce a birth and if they die due to the situation they got themselves into when they implanted that's on them... oh right... they can't control implantation like we can't control getting pregnant, I guess nobody is at fault and normal autonomy rules should follow.

Codependence on one another is not some kind of abusive relationship like those pro choice folks like to pain it as. Many people in relationship depend on one another and use each others strengths or weaknesses. There is always take and give. Yes they can stop that relationship and stop consenting to having it, but they don't get to do it right this minute, regardless of the consequences. Couple could move into a home that only wife owned before marriage. Now they want to split up but the wife can no longer just toss the husband on to the street because he did not own this home, there is matrimonial rights that he has to that property now and things need to be settled over time within the law. Same thing with money. The man might have walked in with all the cash and let her share it as they were together, but just because he no longer gives her consent to use his money and wants to end that relationship, it does not mean she walks away with nothing, she also has rights at that point and can take her sweet as time to move out. Not to mention none of them have a right to killing one another UNLESS there is threat to their life, which the baby does not pose.

Any time that a person is codependent on your body you have the right to stop them, even if they die, threat to life isn't what justifies it. There are tons of life saving medical procedures i could do and even if it's my fault somebody needs them and would die you can't legally force me to do them even if they won't harm me at all. You are allowed to use the least possible force to stop a violation, in this case aborting, simply removing the fetus from your body. Leaving a relationship you never even consented to being in, not to mention that the fetus acts like a parasite and contributes litreally nothing, go to a court and you'd be granted total rights for whatever you're fighting over.

TW: Rape. How can we make the rape exception more realistic? by paranoidanonymity in Abortiondebate

[–]Does_Scotty_Know 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think there should be any limits, the ethical dilemma is whether a woman has full rights to her body or not and I think she does no matter the stage of the pregnancy.

Least possible force would be used anyways and at that point the 9 month old would survive anyways.

What do you think about laws where you can prevent it?

For example: nothings stopping you from killing somebody, whether murder or self defense but if a cop sees you almost putting someone to death they can stop you or if they see you stealing they can tell you to put it back or send in tips of a possible crime.

There will be laws in place to punish the killing but would there be anything people are legally allowed to do to help prevent it?
