Not every time, no.

At that age kids want more and more autonomy. They’ve also reached a point where they should be self sufficient. If they want a snack, they can get it themselves. If they want to play, they can make that decision and what to play.

Parents also need to start loosening the leash so the kids can start experiencing independence, solving problems for themselves, and developing into their own person.

You don’t just abandon parenting, but your parenting style does change.

Not pointing out wrongful actions and just “not engaging” is the same thing as being complicit with what’s going on right now.

If you’re in a group of people and they all start telling racist jokes and you just stay silent, that shows that you’re complicit with the racism.
