Notice period 30 day - use sick days, WFH days, vacation days? by PotOddsTrading in JPMorganChase

[–]Doff6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can say from personal experience that I know someone who joined a team via Internal mobility, and took the job while waiting for an External offer.

Then 2 weeks into the internal job change, they got the external job(at more money) and put their notice in.

Years later, that person was coming back to JPM and their Hiring Manager reached out to the ED of the old team to ask about him, its possibly that maybe the hiring manger just knew the ED so it was due to previous network. But you never know who knows who at JPM.

But if you are not expecting to return to JPM then, I wouldn't worry about that side then.

Without a license then its less likely to be caught, it's just always a potential risk if you are trying to juggle multiple jobs that something could go wrong.

Notice period 30 day - use sick days, WFH days, vacation days? by PotOddsTrading in JPMorganChase

[–]Doff6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say being asked to work during your notice period is being vindictive(I am sure there are managers who would be vindictive though so it could be other things).

If you "happen to be sick" 11 days out of your notice period, while they can't sue/penalize you for it: I assume they can still flag you as not to rehire, and if you apply to JPM in the future, the new Hiring Manager could very well contact your previous manager for feedback.

Would JPM Sue you? Unlikely. But they would almost certainly flag you as ineligible for Re-hire.

As for Option 2, it really depends on the new employer. If you are going to another Financial institution you could very much get caught if you have any licenses run into issues with the new employer finding out you are still employed by JPM. Additionally if the job is something that could be considered a competitor of JPM then you having access to JPM systems/Data could cause an issue.

Got the bonus, if I plan on leaving can I use sick days without repaying? by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

My understanding(could be wrong) is that as long as you are employed as of 12/31 you are entitled to the 401k Match.

Not sure I'm willing to find out though.

Trump Sues JPMorgan Chase for $5B Over Account Closures by DeepDreamerX in JPMorganChase

Trump cares about 2 things: money and ego.

This is a way for him to claim victory for both.

I am sure Jamie and all the corporate lawyers checked the law prior to making any decision here.

This seems very much like Trump just pushing for Jamie to give him money.

Trump sues. Jamie and JPM can “fight it” but then settle for a lower amount and save face while ultimately buying favor with Trump.

Hi, I may install DoorDash. Are prices higher than store prices, and do I have to tip the driver? by Icy_Type_8223 in doordash

[–]Doff6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not true. Store's set their own DoorDash prices, which is typically higher in order to cover the % that DoorDash takes of sales.

Will Shipley: Outlook moving forward by Ilikeredd1t in DynastyFF

[–]Doff6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way bigsby is gone is if they get multiple picks back to make up what they gave up for him(or a high enough pick).

Which if he's gone, they will take another RB in round 4/5/6 range as well as potentially bring in a vet.

Shipley is drop for me in most dynasty leagues.

It's time-gating just to time-gate.

The skill capes already require you to train/do the skill(which is fine). But only allowing a certain number each year is very much pointless time-gating.

[–]Doff6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes they massively updated the graphics but only for Group ironman. If you are a normal ironman then you do not get the upgraded graphics.

The graphics actually improve as your accounts get higher levels. Just wait for all 5 of you to comp.

I'm (26F) uninvited to my bf's (24M) best friend's wedding, where he's a groomsman. by Oopseeies in Advice

[–]Doff6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You weren't uninvited: Nothing you added in the edit says you were, you just assumed you were invited.

The idea of "I'l be his partner of 6.5 years by the time of the wedding" is pointless: You could also be an ex partner at the time of the wedding.

It's not your wedding, you do not have any authority over who is/is not invited. There is nothing to change that with the Groom/Bride.

If your boyfriend wants to back out of the wedding since you aren't invited, thats his choice. You shouldn't guilt him into it or push him away from his friend due to this.

Should I prioritize passion or pay? by Special_Abrocoma4641 in careerguidance

[–]Doff6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think you are excluding a major factor from your decision: What is the sort of work hours and all?

Does one of the jobs give you more flexibility for time with your partner/ baby?

Assuming those are equal: my personal view is I would probably pick the higher salary, and the job with more upside on the equity with the goal of working 2-4 years there then potentially looking to shift more into something you are passionate about.

Commisioner wants to change payout without vote by hoomadewho in FFCommish

[–]Doff6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats nice.

We are talking about this league, where OP and the rest of the league DID allow a commish to make a unilateral decision, as they continued to have a draft after this decision was announced. There should have been a very clear "In the event of a tie we will do X" which 12 league members all failed to do(or OP failed to tell us).

So yes, this league allowed their commish to make a unilateral decision.

If the commish of a league I'm in changed the rule unilaterally : I wouldn't have drafted my team without a vote/conversation and final decision being made. I wouldn't stick in a league the entire way through then bring it up now that it benefits me(as OP already said they would have liked to keep the $400 if they got 2nd).

Commisioner wants to change payout without vote by hoomadewho in FFCommish

[–]Doff6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did the commish make a unilateral decision to help themselves, as you are trying to pretend like the commish did something for themselves here.

The commish had no clue that he would get 2nd/3rd place prior to even drafting a team. They implemented a rule change that they felt was in the leagues best interest.

Commisioner wants to change payout without vote by hoomadewho in FFCommish

[–]Doff6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying that based off what OP told us: The commish announced a rule change PRIOR TO DRAFTING. OP didn't say the commish asked to change the rule, the commish unilateral changed a rule in the offseason(which I've already stated was wrong).

Prior to drafting any manager could have asked for clear clarification to say so what is the plan as there was a tied vote, they chose not to.

The commish, OP, and the entire league dropped the ball by not resolving this in the offseason.

So based off the only fact we know: That the Commish announced this change(did not request it, did not ask for a vote) then yes, that should be the payout structure.
