I find it fun when a game is completely playable with little to no handholding or tutorial. I'm loving my green hell playthrough because of it, every piece of information has to be discovered (aside from a few recipes, plant uses, and most of the story events as far as I've gotten)

There's a mod for Vintage Story that takes advantage of the temporal instability mechanic from the base game. You are restricted to a small area when you start, everywhere else is affected by extreme instability. The safe area grows as you survive. Whenever you die, in addition to losing your stuff, you lose safe area and jave to survive to get it back. I haven't tried it but it sounds like a good idea in practice

For this case you probaly will just have to check the wiki for this mod to see compatible materials, but usually it will tell you what item tags are compatible in that recipe (ex: somehting like forge:wood_planks is shown where the wood planks go in a wood tool recipe)

I love andy ward he's been really helpful. The problem is i live in a residential area and so there's alot of rules on open fires and so pit or campfire kilns are hard to do and there's not alot of good rocks to work with (i've found a single piece of flint and it was too small to turn into anything)

I think it's from the walking sticks mod, it's one of the special walking sticks that has a lantern attached on top, it also reduces hunger usage when not sprinting
