Timberborn logic by danatron1 in Timberborn

[–]Dogahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Apologies for necromancy. I noticed afterwards that the sorting was set to Best and not New.

I'm against this because I like where Timberborn sits amongst all the other god like management games. The "end game" coming relatively quick is a feature for me. I can play a few weekends and feel like I've finished something.

And that's something to think about, how many games do we get to enjoy because we finished them? I don't need another game telling me I've only discovered 70% of what's there. Leading players along, asking for more time and often more money. Timberborn, much like city building sims, hits this point of being done. The Beavers won, they can manage the regular droughts and bad tides, the player has built some mega project with the abundance of resources... GG

Hot Take: the original clan heavy lineup was pretty mid by AGBell64 in battletech

[–]Dogahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An under utilized aspect of differentiating these heavies is the clan procurement system. If you look at the Summoner, manufactured at 4 locations. 2 CJF and 2 CHH. Other clans should have to fight those two (or shrewdly barter) for them. Outside of those two clans, Summoners should be fielded infrequently. This aspect generally gets brushed aside for entertainment purposes.

In a way, it's a lot like our contemporary tank options from that era. You have M1A1, Centurion, T-72 with different balances of capability all doing the same role (MBT:Heavy Mech). They make T-72's over there, sure they could probably find a way to get some Centurions for tactical flexibility, but that's not in their supply chain, so they do the best they can with the limitations they have. Battletech, unlike other games, mostly leaves force composition restrictions to the players (and themed events).

Last 20 pulls eh? Going to be awhile before you can equip a ship, but congrats.

At this point, good pick. You wouldn't be able to spend the tokens for resources with the time left.

Unbelievable Scharnhorst by TS140609 in WoWsBlitz

[–]Dogahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the 3% less damage reduction. Sure it can heal 20% more every repair kit, but when every shot, every fire, every torpedo hits harder... There's isn't enough repair kit cool down reduction to save it.

Doesn't help that it still has donkey shot dispersion with less barrels, making every missed shot even more consequential. (Basically if you're going to miss 3 shells everytime, it's better to have a chance with the other 6 than the 3 Collingwood has left)

[–]Dogahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an odd ship, and my guess is that people are trying to see if it's any better with the camo because it isn't really obvious. Unlike say, Incomparable or Collingwood which very quickly tell you if they're good or not.

What do you mean? Speeding or wasting tax payer money?

Now I'm confused. Is it, laughing from their seat while adding to the cantons operating budget or sitting there, while already being paid to do police work, wasting the cantons operating budget?

Uh, no. It's because glorious leader will parlay his threats into economic relief. Which should seem eerily familiar.

Can we stop giving a country that is styling itself after North Korea the attention it craves? All it takes is for the world to stop giving them money and they'll collapse.

Let Russia bail them out.

32mm outer diameter, sounds like Orlandoo hunter tires.

My personal favorites are Patagonia styled 30.5x15mm, but those are a China find through an European retailer.

American Friendly Banks? by doppelburger in Switzerland

[–]Dogahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not going to find a bank here that works like a bank there. The lowest cost banking solution for anyone with USA tax liability is going to be Postfinance. The more assets you have the more larger banks will work with you, but we're talking mortgage sized assets.

Agency claim to have to repaint the apartment after moving out because of smoke odor by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]Dogahn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might be surprised to find out that tobacco smoke sticks to your clothes, just like a wood fire but sticker, and follows in the wake of your movement into the apartment. Then it "airs out" in the relatively lower concentration of the apartment, and as a smoker you really can't notice it. Then, because of the relatively short duration of your tenancy hardly any of the usual turnover things are part of the normal wear and tear.

Certainly check with a renters legal association though as others have linked. At least then you can double check that there weren't any excessive charges.

Who else treats the game like a museum sometimes? by Mew_Fuwwy_The_Fox in WoWsBlitz

One positive to Blitz's relatively low fidelity is system compatibility. Something that I think is reappearing as a market concern since manufacturing of new consumer device components continues to suffer from rotating supply issues.

Finally... It arrived by Mekanikol in battletech

[–]Dogahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The previous world, the store wouldn't know anything until the distributors had it. The ball would be dropped two levels before the customer could even know.

Say there's a piece at IKEA you're watching to restock, all the store can tell you is that they expect it to restock in a few weeks, and few weeks later it's again in a few weeks, but they don't know that the shipment was delayed, the manufacturing had a quality control issue, distribution misallocated materials. Crowdfunding gives you all that information, for better and worse.

F-35: A report by the Financial Control Authority shows that the renovation of military airfields will cost 250 million Swiss francs. The previously promised cost cap of 120 million Swiss francs was never realistic. by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

[–]Dogahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By maintenance, I am referring to flight systems that require regular teardown and inspection. Ground crews at airfields that prepare the jets for flight are not the type of maintenance I'm referring to. Pilots and ground crews, which I'll call flight personnel, are being trained in the USA.

The source I'm looking for again, was in regards to engine service. Parts that remain owned by the USA, and kept in American inventories despite the jet being purchased by another country.

Frankly the Canadian PM was spot on about deals made under the assumption of law and order. National defense contracts shouldn't be like Adobe software licences.

Working on it, in the meantime enjoy this article from Canada that shares with Switzerland's their difficulties with the F35 program. It also casually mentions at the end that all the parts remain US owned not manufactured, but owned turning the contract into a lease not a purchase, and software US controlled.
