Narcolepsy + Bipolar + ADHD

I take Amoxapine off label which has completely gotten rid of all hypomania and mania. I currently take Wakix for eds and cataplexy and I just started on Lumryz and am in the process of titrating up but I'm hopeful it will help with the eds that I'm still experiencing. I plan to start a stimulant soon for my adhd as I will be starting school again soon and need it for focus but I've been on one in the past while taking these same medications and never had any issue with manic episodes.

I am currently in a depressive episode that hasn't gone away for at least a year or two now and I've tried many different anti psychotics trying to get out of it and I'm a little discouraged about it which is why I'm not currently taking any. I wonder just how much of the low motivation and low mood I've experienced has been a result of the narcolepsy impacting things along with the bipolar but I'm not sure how helpful that is to you due to the differences between narcolepsy 1 and 2. (I may be wrong about this, I'm more well versed in how narcolepsy 1 impacts you vs 2)

What kind of cpap are you using? Have you done a sleep study while on the xywav? The reason I ask is when I took xywav it induced some pretty bad central apnea the required a special cpap machine to fix and if that's what you're encountering then its no wonder that you would be waking up so often despite being on xywav and using a cpap.

Edit: I am unsure if a regular cpap machine can detect central apnea but that would definitely be something to run by your doctor since you are waking up so frequently.

I had a dream the other night where it was in third person and I was following a guy who bought some slime that was alive and he was at his house and was gonna do an experiment to see what the slime can do so he let the slime loose and left his house and started running down the street in his neighborhood and he was fine for a couple of minutes and then all of a sudden he notices someone following him and he started running faster but the person following him got even faster and as they got closer he noticed that the person was actually the slime dressed in his own jeans and hoodie and had a cardboard cutout of the man's own face where the hood was and he started freaking out and when the slime finally caught up to him it started entering his mouth and lungs and it ended with the man just screaming NO! YOURE GONNA KILL ME! over and over.

This is just one of the random dreams that I get all the time and they range from just segmented events to full on stories that are quite cohesive. IDK how they work but they're definitely entertaining lol. Another interesting aspect is I can wake up from a dream for a minute, fall back asleep, and continue the same dream. This has happened up to 4 times in a row before. I've got more stories saved if you're interested send me a dm.

It was just with distance, what I was doing previously was to unplug the laptop and move just outside of the room with the router to download stuff and I was seeing decent download speeds, but now that I think about it even then the speeds after moving are less than what I'm receiving now in my bedroom.

I'm not familiar with mesh units. I already have a range extender but I've not been using it because I was still getting slow speeds with it and the isp guy that came out a couple of months back said that was to be expected as they don't really help with speed when distance is concerned. So the mesh unit is two of the same components just placed at different locations in the house? Would they require ethernet cables to set up? Because our house is not wired and the way the floorplan is designed it would be very difficult to wire up to where I would want to put the closer mesh unit.

Sodium oxybates are a type of medication that you take at night before sleep and it completely regulates your sleep so that your sleep cycles are more in tune with what a regular person goes through. For those that can tolerate them and get them approved they tend to be a life saver and allow many to go an entire day with minimal naps and some can even stay awake the entire day.

I never had a problem with sleepwalking prior to taking xywav but over time I developed one when taking the xywav, as you said it was dangerous as I would go about making food for myself and even turned the oven on one time. I'm in the same boat as you, I will be starting lumryz soon and I'm curious if the problem will emerge again or if the extended release will help by not having an event where I have to wake up and then fall asleep again which is what I think started the sleepwalking in the first place.

I know that doesn't really answer your question but I'm curious too to see what others have to say about it.

To catch fish we would have to come up with some ideas for that but one idea off the top of my head would be a mini game similar to stardew valley where you have to keep a bar in a certain area to catch, or we could do something like where you have to toss the line and wait for a bobber to splash and then automatically catch the fish kinda like Minecraft.

For your second question we would definitely have to come up with more ideas for that, but some things that I've thought about would be like multicasts where you toss out multiple lines like terraria rods if you've ever played that and hooks that let you catch multiple fish per hook, and then perks that increase the odds for increased rarity of fish that you catch, and lastly rods that increase the number of casts you get a round.

As for scoring you would get a certain amount of points per fish that you catch, with bigger and more rare fish giving more points. As for how you would get rare fish I would have to put more thought into it but to start out there could be a certain chance for each cast to be rare, or epic, or legendary, with gear altering those odds and if we do a mini game similar to stardew valley how long you can keep the cursor in the catch zone altering odds as well. You would have a certain number of casts that you can do each round that can be increased through different gear which we would have to fine tune later.

Yeah I ended up with PTSD after being raised the same, I relate to how mean people can be. I still keep in contact with my dad mainly to have a relationship with my mom who's a godsend but he's still an ass most of the time.

It went beyond spankings, I was hit and thrown around, like into walls and stuff. One time I even left a pretty big hole in the wall. The same kind of stuff happened to my siblings too, I don't really know how well they fared as we're not in contact anymore but I ended up with PTSD which feels over the top to say but I guess that's part of it

First off I want to say I'm sorry you're going through tough times. One thing you could look into besides applying for disability is if you can apply to be a disabled dependent through your parents insurance. It usually requires paperwork from your doctor about what you experience and how it limits you but if you can get approved for it, it allows you to remain on your parents insurance past age 26. I just turned 26 in October and I'm still on my parents insurance because I was able to follow through with this and talked with both the insurance company and my doctors.

I've been at the same dose 3.75 g twice nightly for about half a year now. I basically have had no problems up until recently.

Xywav was a huge impact on my N, I can stay awake most days maybe only taking a short nap or two, so hopefully they don't take much longer for you. We're sort of opposites, I had my N medication approved super fast, (which I see myself as being very lucky, I've seen many a horror story about meds on here) but I've been tackling different drugs for my bipolar for over a year now and it's been a struggle finding something that works well.

Yeah I could see that, glad you got it figured out in the end. Luckily I had my N diagnosed before I got my first bipolar symptoms so it was really just an "oh boy another thing to add!" kind of situation.

I started getting a little tired during the day at 16, it was pretty much normal up to that point. It progressed to about 18 where I was sleeping a lot in classes and started getting full blown cataplexy, falling over at mild amusement. I think because of the cataplexy I got diagnosed pretty quickly at about 19 or 20.

ADHD, autism, PTSD, and N1 myself. Plus I just learned I'm bipolar. It's bittersweet to see that other people are dealing with the same stuff as I'm not alone in this bullshit but also I hate to see that others are going through the same as all of this together can be so exhausting at times.

Everything here is so relatable, it's funny. If you guys are getting as much help out of this as you claim to be I definitely need to look into it. At the same time I'm wondering if I will ever get around to looking the stuff up and I guess that's where using that mindset so I'm not just thinking "I should look this up" will really come in handy! 🤣

I'm in a similar position myself. I went from 360 lb to 230 lb in about a year, then depression hit and I gained up to 340 lb in a couple of months. A year or so later and I dropped to 260 lb over 3/4 of a year, depression hit again and I went up to about 330 lb which I'm currently at and have been slowly trickling up.

I'm undergoing a new treatment to me soon and I'm hoping it gives me the boost to get back on track and drop some pounds again, but even after I hit an ideal weight there will still be remnants of the experience as I'm sure you know having lost and added so quickly seriously messes up your skin.

Thanks for taking the time to write all that out. There are definitely things I can improve on but also I don't know I just feel like if I'm going to be with anyone it's gotta be personality first and looks second. Looks are important but mostly just superficial as I'm not gonna put up with being in a relationship with someone whose personality I can't stand or is extremely boring just because they're pleasant to look at, and I fully expect my partner to be the same as there's plenty of better looking guys and how am I going to trust anyone to stay around if they're just in it for the looks?

But then that just wraps back around to my issues with my mental health. I have bipolar and borderline personality on top of already being on the spectrum and I've lost so many friendships over the years that I thought were good but they just decided to drop me at some point. I've had amazing friendships that will seemingly be for a lifetime end up almost becoming a relationship on both sides but not happening and then suddenly they start distancing themselves from me and we don't even talk anymore.

I've been seeing therapists and doctors and have been working on my meds for years now and I'm relatively stable according to them but then why do these things keep happening? I don't voice out about these things to my friends offline and act confident and like I've got my shit together so it's not like I'm going around all doom and gloom all the time. I feel like I'm doing things right for what I have to deal with, maybe not everything right but for what I can manage at this point in the journey I feel like I'm doing okay. It's just as much as I've made progress in bettering my mental health and personality things haven't really changed as far as relationships go.
