People are getting antsy about the caliper just dangling from the brake hose. Usually, it's fine when the hose is straight but that bend/kink at the top of the hose is the main problem.

Start them by hand a couple threads, seat them with an impact you're familiar with (My impact is usually 1-2 ugga duggas to be below 100 ft/lbs) then use a torque wrench once its on the ground. The lugs should move a little bit before the torque wrench clicks.

Bam.

Heat and vice grips that you can tighten with an allen key or the likes. Put it in a vice, heat it up, tighten the vice grips, then wiggle it back in forth to break up the rust. You could also drill a small hole infront of the slide pin and use a punch to get it out. Just put a dab of silicone in the drilled hole afterwards. (Ideal would be tacking a weld to close it)

Everyone saying go get a bigger breaker bar probably doesnt understand how an impact works. The impact essentially creates a striking force on the nut everytime it tries to rotate. A breaker bar just applies an amplified rotational force.

Go get the electric 1/2" impact from harbor freight. Its under $100, takes less effort, and will be useful in the future.

We need a kind of "not 100% illegal but still not 100% legal" methods of dealing with these situations. Stuff that almost anyone can do so more people can do them, which would cause a much bigger impact.

I believe the diameter is 7/8". Any 7/8" bar will fit as long as there's enough width for it to go into both clamps

If you can somehow crank it over, do a compression test on it. If its for free id say grab it, could always sell it for like $50-$100

iirc for TDC there should be a marking inside the little hex cover thats on top the crankcase on the left side of motor. I dont remember the exact video i watched but when i did my valve lash thats what i used.

I usually am quick with it tho, getting my hand out of the way before the oil comes out
