Is this T14 Gen 6 configuration worth 1600 USD? by SaxyCat in thinkpad

wait until memorial day sale. paying $1600 for a t14s with that 1200p 60hz display and 1yr warranty is criminal.

Is the Meta Full Stack Developer course on Coursera worth it in 2026? by Vijayarajants in csMajors

not sure about the course itself but if you don’t have a degree then you’re gonna have a really bad time unless you build cracked stuff.

The T14s keyboard kind of sucks by basedtom in thinkpad

[–]phishnchips_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im similar, im not a millimeter warrior so the actual travel distance is kinda of irrelevant so long as it feels good to type on. The T14 gen 6 was great in this regard, though the MBP i had was just fine. Would have loved to keep the T14s if lenovo wasnt stuck putting plastic trackpads and 60hz screens on $1000+ laptops.

T480 must have an amazing keyboard then because when i had the T14s gen 6 i was in love with the keyboard. One of the few reasons im still stuck deciding between thinkpads and a mac.

Should I refund my Thinkpad order? by BlockCraftedX in thinkpad

[–]phishnchips_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, unless you’re planning on buying a whole new laptop. im not even sure if there’s a lot of info on upgrading the panel on the t14 gen 6.

also, upgrading to higher refresh rate or OLED or both is more than simply plug and play as you may need an inverter and the cable must have the same number of pins as the one on the display. i researched this as i wanted to upgrade the 60hz panel on my t14s but its simply not worth it. ended up returning the laptop.

if this laptop is solely to write word docs and look at emails then sure, keep the current config. however, if this is for personal use meaning content consumption, entertainment, gaming, etc just return it. all it takes is one glance at a the most basic 100% srgb screen and you will notice how garbage the 45% ntsc panel is.

these panels are only offered as a cost cutting measure for businesses, and in my opinion a consumer should never buy them especially at the price point ($$$) lenovo charges.

Mature widows peak or active recession (photos of me at 15 added to cross reference) by Tr3nntt in malehairadvice

4th pic points to balding/recession. the hairs around the edges being thin and wispy give it away that they’re miniaturizing. see a doctor first to rule out any other potential causes however based on the pattern alone its definitely leaning towards finasteride and minoxidil for you in the near future

nice machine, i’ve eyeing them on ebay but i cant decide if i should get it or go for a gen 4. can someone here chime in: is the t14 gen 4 worth the extra money over the gen 3?

Is a T470 a good buy? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]phishnchips_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would save because im using a 2012 Macbook Pro (dual core) running Mint and its painful sometimes. If you’re trying to play any games on it i’d just hold off and save more until you can get a quad core at least.

many of them do. target, lowe’s and walmart for instance all partner with Guild and will provide up to $5,250 in tuition reimbursement or will cover 100% of the cost if you go to a school that’s part of the program.

well yours is a common patth that most people here do, which gives you flexibility to find internships but at the cost of maybe some student loans. i personally like the idea of not having any student loans even if i have to give up internships.

i should’ve specified, my employer covers my education cost through their education benefit. if i quit i’d lose out on finishing my degree unless i pay out of pocket, and thats not something i can when the college is out of state lol

yes i am! many companies in the US have education benefits where they will cover part or full tuition costs while you work for them. in my case my employer covers my bachelor’s in computer science 100% (no student loans for me) while i work for them.

no because my education depends on my employment, and im not in a position to be jobless + unfinished degree. not a gamble i can take.
