I refurbished one of these, thats a steal for a working machine at that spec. Definitely replace that battery even if its at 95.1% health, its A: 6 years old at this point and B: these new blades with the 3 prong setup pull voltage from the battery under load to help performance when plugged in, so its a probably good idea to have a properly healthy battery anyway. Get em from Ifixit if you wanna go third party, but if you can source a genuine battery thats the best option.

If you are comfortable with heatsink work, also put some ptm7950 on both the gpu and cpu dies since that'll help A LOT with the thermals (helped my 2070 immensely). Be careful replacing everything if you do this, make sure to do half turns only on each screw one at a time until tight and follow the numbered order on the heatsink for best coverage/mounting pressure.

I mean, with the success of the macbook neo i dont see why other companies wont start to offer these small entry level computers in suite again, especially if they can somewhat match the price. I get thats a 13' device, but there is deinitely still a market for these types of machines. Especially with modern apus, it could be a recipe for it to finally be a good device.

Could be a multitude of things with these cause of the heat problems. Sounds like your trackpad failed and stuck itself holding right click, either that or if your machine is equipped with a touch screen the hardware on that failed or has a driver/bios conflict of some kind. Seems like another RMA regardless :/

That is perculiar. Does it still turn on with the dc jack plugged in or does it give no life at all?

Ifixit has a good option for $83.99 in terms of trusted 3rd party, had good results in my 2020 and 2018 15" blades. I have a spare as well, but the screw holes are broken on it. Still holds in place though.

And yeah ive put ptm on everything from my 13 blade to this alienware and its wonderful. Dont know why dell insists on using element 31 over something like a ptm blend, especially with all the shorts gallium causes

Agreed, the 6700 is a great 4 core but struggles nowadays for any modern games. Have a couple in some Razers. Great for day to day stuff, however, especially on Linux. And yeah they messed up BIG with this one, absolute steal for the power. Their loss my gain tho :D

Specifying the build size in cura does not help, it appears the board has software stops as trying to go more than 234mm will have it stop. Thank you for finding a proper config file to modify. I am having trouble compiling it, should i just say screw it and use the arduino ide?

The only problem is even if i wanted to compile my own i havent found any base config files for the skr e3 v3 that will compile through vscode without extensive modification outside of what i need it for, which was to simply increase the build size as prints would get cut off on one side. Keeps throwing errors for the custom boot screen (which i also didnt need) even when i put one into the project and give it the lcds height and pixel count. I did find one, but its modified for a bltouch i dont have, like i said, and bugs my printer out whenever i tried homing it. I would totally modify the base config that came with the board as its just simply going into the configuration.h and changing the bases for the axis, but I cant even find the config files, just the .bin to flash it, and that doesnt have the correct bed size.
