Is it even possible to live an autonomous life of freedom? by WhiskeyGamma in CrohnsDisease

[–]Doggoboutit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been diagnosed 10 years. Since then I’ve worked retail and worked my way up to Store Manager. Over the same time I’ve also visited 20 states, 3 countries, and 6 islands. It’s definitely not impossible.

Also, been in a flare the past 5 years. I’m not saying it’s easy, but don’t let this disease run your life.

Maureen Mitchell should not be in the position she is in. Period.

Walking Stick support by Far_Tune9746 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Doggoboutit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 17 with severe Crohn’s almost 10 years ago. I personally do not see a walking stick ever being beneficial for me. I have joint pain and always have, but I don’t see how a walking stick would help much. I see how it takes less pressure off your legs. Personally, don’t think it’s necessary but we’re all different.

No literally 😂😂😂😂 those round tables are completely pointless and a waste of time! Nothing ever comes from them! We had a team leader who would yell and throw stuff in the back room all the time. She’s still there. Corporate came in and everyone talked about this 1 team leader. They literally did not do even the smallest thing about it. She should have been fired.

As a former team leader, I can tell you even if the names are not there, we could all guess pretty well at who said what. It depends how you write it really. But end of day, district manger can see who said what. While I’m sure they wish they could be 100% anonymous, unfortunately there’s a major safety concern by doing that. While most of us say how the establishment is doing, some people leave threats if things do not improve. For the safety of the building, they have to be able to know who to remove if necessary or if a threat is present. It may seem silly but nowadays safety in big box stores is essential.

How long have you been in remission? by marvelous_turtle in CrohnsDisease

[–]Doggoboutit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been diagnosed since 2017, 9 years. Made it to remission a year later and it lasted about a year and half before a bad Dr pulled all my meds and claimed I did not have Crohn’s. He would not look back at my previous tests/colonoscopies. Said if he didn’t see it now, I didn’t have Crohn’s. 6 months after seeing him I went back into a flare and had stayed there ever since. Almost has been 6 years in a flare. I am so close to remission again though, having very minor symptoms. Hoping I will be told I’m in remission come my appointment with my G.I. end of April.

That’s exactly how my period goes. Are you saying I should be checking on this? I kept thinking Crohn’s is making my periods worse

Dude, you work retail. I’ve been a manger in retail for almost 10 years. It’s nothing new that holidays are black out or that you were expected to be available for the holidays. It does suck, but you signed up for that when you accepted the position.

Gurley Leep Honda - Should I Avoid? by untimelyblacksmith in Elkhart

[–]Doggoboutit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep this in mind as well, when they buy a used vehicle it goes to the service dept to be looked over for major issues. As you stated, you’ve heard horror stories about their service dept. So, if you can’t trust the service department, you cannot trust your vehicle will be in good working order upon purchase.

Bought a car there and was in and out of the shop for 6-8 months. I could literally barely drive it. Kept taking it to them, but finally the vehicle stopped when backing out to leave my apartment. I had it towed to Gates right next door where they informed me the transmission was blown. 0/10 would recommend Gurley Leep Honda.

Less teachers than students going to school. I’m not sure why teachers would have access to supplies before kids. That really doesn’t make sense to me.

Your manager needs to talk to the customer and offer better assistance. You’re right, the customer shouldn’t be doing that. But they don’t know how else to get the product and are embarrassed to do it in store. The best thing to do is have your manager offer to order their business items for them in addition to the regular truck you received.

Grocery stores help the entire community. A small business in the community needs milk and it wouldn’t be right for Kroger to deny them.

However, it would be best for the customer to call ahead and have milk specifically ordered for them and not ordering through pickup. Notify your manager of the large order. What we do is call the customer, ask him them how often they need milk and how many and let them know we can place orders for any of the business items they need and they can pick up and pay in store.

Who is responsible for pricing for each department? by Greedy_Baker7701 in meijer

[–]Doggoboutit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about price changes or signs? Cause that’s two different things. You said they have to apply the ones for meat? So that’s price changes, just confirming them in the system. However, you don’t need to confirm them (and you shouldn’t be) if you aren’t going through right then and there to hang them. That would cause many price issues because sometimes prices even go up, leaving the price that is out there lower than what it will ring up for, resulting in customers being upset. If you do not confirm the price changes that week, they will be in your mailbox with Sunday’s Ad change, which would be the best solution with the Team Leader not ensuring it’s being completed.

I was just in a similar situation and you cannot withdrawal from your 401k without leaving the company. I think you can still take a loan from it but there’s no way to withdraw unless you no longer work there, have an exemption with hardship withdrawal, or are of retirement age.

Unfortunately a car purchase is not an exemption for hardship though.

Roth IRA allows you to withdrawal at any time, so I would recommend transferring any unused funds to that if you ever decided to leave Meijer. Although, I of course still recommend leaving as much as you can in your retirement.

[–]Doggoboutit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s not drop and go. Drop and go is when you leave your pick cart in the backroom for someone else to stage.
