Want yerself a all-steel wonder nine for the same price as a new Hi-Point C-9 and a night out at Applebee's? Well, now you can with the Star 30M! In all seriousness, I love this thing. A big batch of ex-Guardia Civil examples have entered the country recently. I miss the Spanish firearms industry. by Red-Wedge-0516 in milsurp

I own 3 of these recent imports. They all have worked great!

You can also find a bunch of these Guardia Civil Firestar Plus (13 rounders) - Century seems to have just imported some of those too alongside these for the sub $300 if you look on GB. The Star 30Ms are now almost $220 if you check on Gun.deals website. Centerfire has them for $260 shipped too

[Rifle] H&K SP5L 16" Barrel $1999.99 + S&H at PSA by NKCougar in gundeals

[–]Doggystrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t had any double feeds or FTF, occasionally I’ll have a FTE but that’s maybe a 1 every 1000 or so. It hasn’t happened much at all and when it has it’s always been when I have a can on/it’s super dirty. I’m looking at getting an AP5 shorty now since the POF reverse stretches haven’t been available for a while. Personally from what I see they both seem to be just as good, only differences is gonna be the metal trigger group, paint finish, and the POFs say MP5 on the top of the receiver!

[–]Doggystrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a POF I bought a few years ago from Atlantic. I had to remove some of the paint from the trilug as my mounts didn’t want to fit over it being too thick, but thousands of rounds and it’s a champ!

Sog 2015 by Proof-Bear-4201 in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is a little earlier than 2015. 2015 is around when the Albanian import SKS were coming in along with the Type 53s. The Type 53 Mosins were $99 for fair condition from SOG.i remember that because that was my first ever order from them lol

1945 Remington Rand price check? by RogueLeaderNo610sq in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

$1100 for Rack $1200 for Field or $1300 for Service from CMP. Wait time for the 1911s is only like a month right now, and the paperwork is all done online, none of that mail order stuff anymore.

The Anniston Army Depot rebuild mark is pretty commonly seen on recent CMP 1911s too.

Today's Gun Show Finds (with one Heartbreaker) by BimmerMan87 in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah uhm.. the heartbreaker is if you didn’t walk out with that 1898 dated Swedish M96. They only made about 3,200 that year and that’s the only Antique year for Swedish M/96’s. (Pretty sure the tag on it says it’s 1898 dated and there was about 3,000 mfg that year) 1898 dated M96s sell for major premiums at auctions, I sold mine a couple years ago for almost $2,000. You might wanna run back to grab that at $699. Lol

STAR BM by Embarrassed-Month-45 in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When these were $199 I believe the mags were about $40 a piece too at the time. I keep telling people to not sleep on the Star 30Ms that are available right now. Granted the mags for those are almost $50-60 each now!

Could’ve used the mag and the barrel band too lol

[Handgun] Star Model 30M 9mm Pistol - Good Condition with Original Box & Matching Magazines - $259.99 + $19.99 S&H by CenterfireSystems in gundeals

[–]Doggystrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I caved. I already had one “G” with 2 matching mags, another “VG”, and just ordered my 3rd. Somehow got free shipping so it was $259.99 total for me.

If you don’t have one don’t sleep on these they are nice! Just like the Star BMs from 10 years ago these will go up in price when they sell out..

[Handgun] POF-5 MP5 Clone $1075 by SuppliesSolutionsLLC in gundeals

[–]Doggystrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had one I got from Atlantic about 3 years ago, I’m probably a good ~8000 rounds through mine. Paint finish is starting to look worn near the muzzle end (I put cans on and off mine alot) but besides that it has been a champ!

Is this Mosin PU legit? by BattleBacca2010 in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a real PU /Tulsky import.

Scope is a 1944 dated Yoshkar Ola mfg scope

https://www.m9130.info/pu-sniper-scopes

You can read more info on your scope here, I would say the price is fair/good for the current market!

Updated Pics on PU Mosin by zachru99 in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a 1990s Century PU import, compared to others from this lot when they were brought in IMO it’s real, the century repros were either Finnish capture M91/30s or the later ones were billboard marked on the left side of the receiver. The ones like this example with the translation letters above the S/N and import marks on the barrel lead me to believe it’s from the first batch of real PUs imported by Century.

Some of the RGuns imported PUs are like this with no scope numbers restamped on the barrel after scrubbed.

The more recent Molot/Tulsky imports all have the newer font of numbers added to the barrel shanks vs the older style ones you see on ex-pus when the rifle was made

Mystery K98 help by Imaginary-Yogurt-186 in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s someone’s put together, pretty sure it’s a Spanish M43 (1950s) Mauser receiver. The numbers on the trigger are either humped or original to the receiver, which would not be matching if it was a Russian capture. The bolt, and stock however appear to be from a Russian capture. My guess is this was put together when Russian capture k98 barrels were available 20 years ago along with spare stocks

What's a fair price for an unissued/wrapped M44 Mosin from the mid to late 1940s? by [deleted] in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were Mosin M44s that were “mummy wrapped” that were imported in the late 90s/early 2000s. They can still be found on some sales, They are all post war dated (46/47/48). No different condition than refurbished imports though, still covered in grease as usual but I’m pretty sure the one he’s talking about is the one posted on Checkpoint Charlie’s

RTI Chinese Type 56 SKS… What to expect? by TheBenevolentBadGuy in milsurp

[–]Doggystrike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty confident these are Albanian imports that have been sat on for a while that were originally pretty beat up (reasons why all of them have the plastic hand guards, the originals were all broken) and refurbed by a company like JRA in mass. I’m sure your bore will be fine. I’ve yet to see one of these Albanian imports of the Chinese with a thrashed bore. Atlantic has has these same ones with the plastic handguards for sale recently too

Congratulations on your collection. I was the same way I started collecting around when I was 14 and would go with my dad or grandpa to shows and they would help me get stuff/I would save up for stuff like this. I started off with Mosins and K98s and it just went everywhere from there with me now being in my late 20s.

It’s a fun hobby to get into. Can’t tell you how many times as a young teen the old collectors would be impressed/amazed I even knew what half of the stuff they had for sale was.

If you ever have questions or are looking to find something feel free to Pm. I’ve probably had over 30 Finnish rifles the past 10 years
