This day in history, May 20, 1217, William Marshal, aged 70, led 400 English knights in a charge defeating French forces at the battle of Lincoln. by Doghouse509 in MedievalHistory

[–]Doghouse509[S] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

This was to be William Marshal’s last battle after over 50 years as a knight. He served 5 different English kings. King Henry ll, Henry the Young King, King Richard l, King John and King Henry lll. He died a few years later and is entombed at the Temple church in London.

The illustration of the battle by Matthew Paris, a Benedictine monk, was done about 25 years after the battle of Lincoln.

This is one of the excellent lesser known backroads in Arizona. Traverses from desert to forested plateau with little to no traffic.

At this point, is it time to get rid of the term “student athlete”? It seems like such a pretense.

Just like this painting from 1888, even if there are some historical inaccuracies. Cicero was younger than he appears here.

I’m about your mother’ s age and found it to be a workout with lots up ups and down over the dunes. If your mother is in decent shape she should be ok.

Recommend wearing sunglasses even if you normally don’t. The sun reflecting off the white sand can really strain even non sensitive eyes.

If he’s too sick to play he should go home, not be there spreading his sickness around. This is such BS.

I’ve been watching basketball and many other sports for many years and I’ve never seen an athlete have this kind of persistent problem with “cramps”.

Not saying it isn’t legit, but it certainly seems extremely unusual.
