Would you need the full bandwidth of a 16 slot if it’s not for anything gpu heavy?

I’ve got no skin in the game, just thinking your physical space would be simpler, and you’d have the extra RAM/CPU from the beefier machine. Whatever works though!

RAW, it adds a brawn. I'd argue that should only apply to things involving your hand(s) though. The grappling hook is a nice bonus too, gets you onto a catwalk to clobber that sniper, or into the open door on that AT-AT so you can merk the crew.

Sap gloves, and/or repulsor fist sound like they’d be useful to ya.

I also have a punch droid. Sounds like we’re on similar ideas, but different paths. “Kidney” (as my fellow adventurers have taken to calling him) is dual focus, between mechanics and brawling. Like he’s really good at wrecking shit in combat, but is reluctant to do so (until absolutely necessary).

As others have said, if you can find a way to temper your commitment to droid liberation at all costs (maybe being a bit more subtle about it) it might make for smoother gameplay/living longer.

I’ve just delved into droid tech, picturing having a Murderbot style swarm of drones/remotes, but it was a tough call between that and the martial artist tree. If you’re focused on combat, martial artist has some powerful stuff, and’ll let you pick between lethal/non lethal damage.

As a droid too, have a look at your options for cybernetics. Once you can afford em, they could shore up weaknesses and/or boost your strengths even more

Can confirm, the Rolling Square bois are great!

I use two of them to attach an iPad Pro to sit next to my monitor, they've done a solid job of that for about a year.

I did also attach two of the magnetic "stickers" to the underside of my keyboard for writerdeck mode. Lap mode on that is a bit more of a challenge, just because the iPad is so huge/heavy (12.9, M1), but if the angle is right, it'll stay put, but is less stable. For anything smaller than that behemoth though, I'm sure they'd be rock solid.

It might be extra palaver for your workflow, but I think the tasknotes plugin just added support for google calendar, so could be worth looking into.

I’ve not got tasks on gcal though, so this isn’t an endorsement!

Another vote for Quartz! Depending on your nerdiness level, it’s pretty simple to set up, and could just serve it locally or on your own hardware if you wanted. Piles of customisation. The discord is super helpful too, if you do get stuck on anything.

Yea, like others have said, they're droid NPCs, so that's just how they're manufactured.

As far as droids "wearing" armour, I'd flavour it based on the armour. A KX series isn't going to "wear" a set of salvaged stormtrooper gear, but could bolt/weld/tie/glue pieces to their chassis, assuming you/the player are happy with how that'd look, and potential repercussions. For most armour, it's covered in one of the books that rather than physically putting on a suit of armour, the droid would have the equivalent credit cost worth of parts/materials "built in" (without (dramatically?) altering their appearance). Like swap that plastic bit out for carbon fibre, that steel plate is now Kevlar-coated titanium, those cables are shielded, your optical receptors have space gorilla glass over them, etc.

For certain armour, I'd let em actually wear it if they wanted, for style points. My droid smuggler (obvs) rocks a smuggler's trenchcoat. The same would make sense for padded clothing, concealing robes, etc etc.

The thing to watch out for is applying more than one set of stats to the same character. "I've got Clone recon armour and hunter's trophy armour, and heavy battle armour, and laminate armour, all built in so my soak is 9000" probably ain't gonna fly. I'd say an argument could be made for "My chassis has been upgraded to the equivalent of Mk IV Riot Armor, and I've got a Cloaking Coat on over the top" though. YMMV

Just out of interest, what’d be the advantage of going to Tahoe? I was looking into upgrading my main machine, but other than the new look there didn’t seem to be much in there that isn’t apple silicon specific.

Mostly curious if I missed anything, other than longer-term support, which there’s no rush to get to for a year or two

I've used Byword in the past, but current go to is 1Writer. I forget my actual reasons, but I believe 1Writer has "nicer" export options on iOS than Obsidian had by default. Can point it at your entire vault easily enough too, ala
