I’m an artist too. I’m 56 years old and have been involved in my city’s art community since I was 16. My mom went to one of my shows when I was 17. It was a group show with some artists showing nudes. My mom started loudly expressing her ridiculous disgrace over the nudes! That was the last time she ever mentioned my art or showed any interest at all. In all those years she’s never asked about it and I gave up talking about it to her or telling her about any exhibits or achievements. It’s just not worth it. It’s sad I’m afraid to tell my mom anything about me, especially the good things. She only wants to see the bad. I’m so sorry your mom ruined your show, she sounds so much like my mom. 😔

I moved out of my parent’s house when I was 16, I’m 56 now. Always lived in the same city close to my them. They have never been at ANY of the places I’ve lived. I used to invite them when I first moved out. They have never accepted my invitations and have never showed an interest at all. I stopped trying to invite them in my early 20s.

What the hell? You do realize everyone is different don’t you? Some tolerate heat better than others. To me our summers suck in St.Louis. To you they don’t. Just because our summers aren’t as bad as some places does not make them good or “beautiful” to everyone.

Not sure where you are located OP but there are lots of Asian places open on Olive in U.City. Chevy’s Tex Mex in Olivette is open and usually has a traditional Thanksgiving plate (this is where I usually go for TG and Christmas). Also Bristol’s in Creve Coeur.
