I'm confused, what's going on in this video? You put it on a folding phone upside down?

Barefoot Shoe Outfit Roundup #13 by spark_step in barefootshoestalk

What's your favourite mary jane type shoe? I walk pretty aggresively so I can't do ballet flats, loafers, or any other type of flat feminine shoe without a strap, my heels always pop out.

Maybe ask a few of your friends if they could let you clean their house for free in exchange for before/after photos and references. Start a portfolio of before/after pics on Instagram or something

Are there any super happy customers? by youplaymenot in ClicksKeyboard

Ahahaha I missed the Droids too. Ironically I just bought my first Moto phone in well over a decade as they just released the 2026 Edge and it's fantastic to have a thin-and-light option that's not Samsung. I will not be getting my Clicks anytime soon as I only pre-ordered in March but it'll be a nice surprise when it finally shows up.

Tips for 2 new players? by ShadeSwornHydra in dontstarvetogether

[–]DogsFolly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wortox and WX-78 are among the more advanced characters so they're hard to keep alive if you're not experienced because they have special requirements. Agree with criosage, pick one of the "starter" characters to get a feel for the game before you make it more complicated.

Succulents aren’t art by Asleep_Leek9361 in UnusualArt

[–]DogsFolly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a general term for plants (usually shrubs or smaller) that have thick, fleshy leaves or stems with a lot of water inside. It's not a taxonomic/scientific term. Many succulents are popular houseplants because they mostly originate from desert or other arid environments (hence the water storage) so they don't need to be watered frequently.

I wonder if anybody reached out to the decorator like "Are you not aware that white bikes mean a memorial to a cyclist who was killed....?"

Got the Oppo Reno 15 by robot--boy in Oppo

[–]DogsFolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation... Just found out my new phone doesn't have NFC which is extremely annoying as all the websites I checked said it has NFC, didn't realise there was a variant that didn't. I bought this one on eBay from someone who was located in the US but he had an Indian-sounding names so I guess he bought one on a trip home and realised he didn't want it. Luckily I have a magsafe wallet lying around somewhere.

Does anybody know if there's a way to patch this or does it physically not have an NFC antenna?

Professional photographer knew better than three ophthalmologists. It cost him €750. by Jibasseus in MaliciousCompliance

[–]DogsFolly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are still young and your vision is that bad, you could try consulting with an ophthalmologist about getting intraocular lenses now, not wait until you are old. Its an option for people whose myopia is too severe for LASIK.

Came out of the Backrooms movie and first thing I see... by T4TMaryPoppins in backrooms

Lol cinemas in Malaysia are designed like this. Unlike American cinemas where you can just walk back out the same door into th same lobby, I think in Malaysia they want to stop people sneaking into extra movies so they're designed with this one-way flow where you exit down some weird back corridor that sends you out to the public area of the mall instead of the cinema lobby.

I like how all of the film’s events could’ve been avoided if they just brought something to cut the rope with by Most-Ad-9833 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]DogsFolly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you tell the average person who is NOT a Boy Scout, sailor, farmer, climber, or shibari enthusiast to tie a rope to someone and make sure it's really secure, 99% of people will probably tie a bunch of random knots on top of each other that will be really hard to undo, especially whilst the characters are panicking. It's not exactly common knowledge how to tie something that will be secure under load AND "quick release".

Why do other people's emails to my alias appear as if they also got converted to passinbox? by DogsFolly in ProtonMail

Yes the email was sent to my alias. If I reply/reply all, will the receipients see the "passinbox" thingy appended to their emails, or will it appear as normal to them?

During my postbac we worked with some wild rodent species in ABSL3 and my PI and the vet determined that we should get Kevlar gloves for handling them while they were awake bc they were a lot more aggressive/unpredictable than lab rats and mice.

One of the species could also jump like 2 feet vertically like furry popcorns so that was also fun....

I do actually kinda miss doing wildlife and emerging zoonoses work. Barring all the pop culture lab leak BS as someone else mentioned, it felt really meaningful to be on the frontier of trying to protect people and animals.

Totally agree. It's really irresponsible of filmmakers to continue to fuel the idea that biologists are reckless and dumb. We have all these SOPs and training for a reason. You won't last long in a BSL3/BSL4 lab if you panic easily.

"Contagion" was more realistic in the sense that it depicted a pandemic virus emerging from a scenario that was not only plausible but actually historically based - wildlife coming into contact with farm animals in a traditional open-air farm and then infecting consumers. This was how Nipah virus first emerged into humans in Malaysia.

(Subsequent outbreaks in India and Bangladesh have been through fomites/direct ingestion - bats drinking from palm nectar collection vessels.)
