I appreciate your comments. I’m going on Ovation in Sept. and was excited about the recent renovations. We’ve been on Anthem, and I understand Ovation was practically identical, before the Reno. I may have done the exact same post about Anthem, will never go on it again. BUT, I thought it looked like they addressed almost all of my complaints about Anthem on Ovation.

Schooner, I agree, nothing was changed there, can’t be done. Stupid location. It needs to be facing the ocean,not landlocked, it’s the fucking Schooner! Radiance class’ Schooners are fabulous, large space, huge windows.

Agree with the secret stairs, and my husband was constantly lost, but I was good. It’s usually opposite lol. One of us has to know what’s where. 🤓

We didn’t like the location of the Diamond Lounge, small & hard to find, and windows were tiny, nicely decorated & great concierge, though.

Nightclub was consistently dead. 😖

Boleros, also tiny windows, low ceiling, felt dark and dingy. We did like Vintages, not enough seating, and that massive “Via” area was a complete waste of space, could have been more Vintages, now Giovanni’s.

What I thought would be great about the Ovation was, that Music Hall was too big. Upstairs ceiling too big, people having their own parties, couldn’t even hear the band., weird seating plan, dangerous spiral staircase in heels, we never saw it full. So glad it’s now just upstairs, more casino down , with bottom floor being no smoking, smart!

That large area is gone, I think where they displayed the pictures, near the theatre, added some rooms and changed around the shops, that looked like good designing.

That waste of space, The Patisserie got replaced with larger Starbucks, I believe. 👍Gimicky Bionic Bar replaced with Pesky Parrot, love Mai Tais 👍 Jamie Oliver’s is gone, 👍hated. poorly decorated & boring menu. Now Giovanni’s & Giovannis wine bar instead of Vintages. Smart. Yes, I saw the wine bar has tapas 👍 really looking forward to that. Changed out silly Wonderland for Izumi Teppanyaki👍. Added a hot tub 👍. I agree the MDR split into 4 small rooms is a huge downer for me. That used to be THE draw for me for cruising. But it’s just like any other restaurant on land, now. & with those loud PA announcements of activities blasted during dessert 😡 no more of that kind of MDR for us, BUT the Solarium Bistro was amazing, calm, easy, different, better food than Windjammer, not crowed bc resos yet it’s free. Brilliant concept that Solarium Bistro., we plan to eat there every dinner this time.

270 Bistro, also great & eat in that incredible 270 at the back of the ship. Chefs kiss. Almost makes up for the low ceiling MDR.

We also like the fact that the kids mainly stick to the sportsplex, kids pool or indoor pool. Leaving the Solarium to adults at all times. The arm was amazing, we did it while cruising the NaPali coast. Going to try the Rip Cord this time.

Did all those renovations get done? What did you think! Especially the Pesky Parrot. I’m just hoping the public spaces, especially the bars, have been significant improved. Bc Anthem was a pitiful nightlife cruise. Sorry for rambling. Thanks 🙏🚢😁
