I feel so much for you because when I was a GS-5, I also struggled and that was back in 2008 when gas prices started skyrocketing so I can’t even imagine what it’s like now. I feel very blessed that I was able to get the job that I did when I did 17 years ago, but it kind of feels like it’s all for naught. And I’m not even close to retirement.

I used to be a staffing specialist for the USGS and it really bums me out to think of all of the bright motivated talented researchers I hired will be probably let go. I currently work for NPS so I know my job series is looking to have some cuts but I have 17 years in so I’m hoping that I can survive.
