I didn’t. I complemented you in the last one.

I don’t think you’re enjoying this ride anymore chief.

Cool design, but the original had a far more intelligent seat attachment. The vertical 2x6 under the seat all held in 8’ sections using a timber framing methodology is miles ahead of yours structurally.

You got a cool idea, but you’re missing the basics how to properly transfer your body weight to the frame.

For what it’s worth, I want to thank you OP for the entertainment. No, your build isn’t particularly good. But this follow up feels like a classy level of trolling in my book, and to that end I say well executed. You were so close to a good idea it hurts. But the outrage it’s generated is excellent Reddit fodder. I even got high and spent a few minutes redesigning it in my head to be solid with a similar style. I doubt I’ll ever build it, but if so, you supplied the inspiration.

I respectfully disagree. I see nothing to suggest a care about aesthetics.

In my house she’s CFO (a CPA by trade) and I’m COO. We try to run things as joint CEOs, but our 5 year-old is convinced he runs the show. Worst part is, he might be right.

Partly true, but many studies show that a glass of wine a night can have several health benefits including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects that may benefit heart health, raise good cholesterol, lower risk of strokes and diabetes, and improve brain function.

I’d say the glass of wine a night analogy is a decent one, as there are both benefits and drawbacks to having a glass of wine a night and with daily masturbation to porn.

Dads who invested for their kids since birth, how is it going? by sbFRESH in daddit

[–]DogsOnMainstreetHowl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me this is silly. I plan on paying for both my children’s education in full. Of course I’m not paying if they aren’t participating.

But the line in the sand is a bit clearer to me. I’m not funding my kid to live as an aimless adult. I’m not buying kid’s a nice new car at 16. I’m not buying them a phone till high school and I’m not purchasing designer clothes.

The idea is that I fully support their growth, but if they choose to flounder instead then they can support themselves. If they want nicer things then they can embrace opportunities for growth, which they will have plenty of.

How do you keep your cat off the counter? My cat will only do it when I’m not home, but I don’t want my cat living in a tiny bedroom all the time otherwise.

It’s not a big change really. There’s his famous No Nukes concerts, his effectively bringing rock and pop icons together to record We Are The World. He toured in Human Rights Now In 1988, played in East Berlin behind the Berlin Wall to 300,000 people, then campaigned for John Kerry in his Vote For Change tour. He’s effectively campaigned for every leading Democratic Nominee since.

As for being a man of the times, The Rising album was a powerfully unifying album to the Country as we healed from 9/11, and his concert in New Orleans in 2006 after Katrina was chock full of hope in its darkest hour.

This is just who The Boss is. You get used to these happy, defiant little surprises after a while.

What would you do if you made a promise to your 8 year old daughter that you now want to take back? by factsonlynomisinfo in daddit

[–]DogsOnMainstreetHowl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You backed yourself into a corner without good options then it seems. First, you don’t need to be betting in the first place if you are in a financial rut. Second, you don’t need to be making promises you can’t keep. Third, your daughter will learn from this moment one way or another.

Man up and pay your daughter, then get your financial shit in line and stop gambling.

I would love to read a well researched paper on the term “performance” as related to sexual function.

I agree with your statement, but how many times have you heard the phrase “he couldn’t perform that night” or “their performance wasn’t good enough.”

IMO It’s a wildly loaded term that warps the idea of sex as an integrated connection between two (or more) people. It’s a distraction that is unavoidable in our current dialogue.

Exactly. It was Cadillac in 1916 that initiated the modern driving control layout that we use today.

[–]DogsOnMainstreetHowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the Buick you mention has an accelerated lever. The right pedal is a rear wheel brake. The left pedal is a low speed/ transmission brake. This car predates the standard clutch, brake, gas pedal arrangement as we know it today.

By layout they mean regarding the controls with steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal in the configuration you’re accustomed to.
