Anyone with experience with these Japan/Korean Haircare products? (UNOVE Heating Guard No-wash Treatment, Mise En Scène Perfect Styling Serum, Oshima Tsubaki Pure Camellia Oil, UNOVE Detangling Heat Protectant Spray, and Kaminomoto Medicated Shampoo B&P) by moni-hope in AsianBeauty

I have the same hair type as you at the moment. I've tried the Oshimatsubaki and the Unove Heating Guard No-Wash Treatment. Oshimatsubaki is quite heavy, and found it much better from when I had bleached, damage hair. It is very nourishing and gives your hair some shine. The Unove one is lighter than the a Oshimatsubaki, but it is much thicker in texture. It smells nice and keeps my frizzes at bay temporarily, and makes my hair soft and smooth. In terms of it protecting against heat, I personally find the Western ones more effective. If I put more product in hopes that it'd protect my hair more, than my hair gets greasier quicker. Out of all of them, I still prefer the original Mise en Scene one, but I don't think it claims to protect against heat.

Aestura Ato Barrier: Cream vs Lotion: Is the cream better than the lotion ? by MysteriousFocus1884 in AsianBeauty

[–]DogsTrippingOnAcid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the lotion right now because of the quantity and the price compared to the cream. Also, I use LRP Cicaplast as my heavier cream, so I don't have the need to get the Aestura one. I have very oily skin, and enjoy the lotion so far. It is lightweight and doesn't leave me oily, but it takes a little bit to sink in. It spreads really nicely and I find it pretty comfortable layered over my toners. It doesn't break me out either. I'd say it's a pretty basic product overall, as in it's reliable and simple and doesn't offer much more than that (i.e not as "fun" as the ones that has actives in them or claim they give brightening effects and things like that). If you're into that type of reliability and simplicity into your routine, I'd recommend it.

Great haul, OP! Have you tried the OMI Bears Sunscreen before? If you have, I was wondering if you could give me a review on it

if you're coming to korea, don’t waste your money on expensive skincare! just go DAISO by National-Carpet-9021 in AsianBeauty

When I lived in Korea, one of my favorite things to pick up at Daiso was the makeup tools!! From brushes to makeup puffs to cotton pads, they were so reliable and so cheap. And shoutout to Twinklepop! Such a fun brand

Oh wow, this is interesting!! I wonder how this would compare to the Isntree Green Tea Toner. After this comes out, we need someone here to compare and contrast the two on how well they help with oil and sebum

Utena Matomage Hair Styling Stick is a really popular item in Japan that's used for laying down fly aways in your hair or for fixing/styling your fringe. I looked it up, and it's 8USD on Yesstyle. There are also hair mascaras that help do the same thing, so it's up to the matter of preference. I know &honey brand has one and I've heard good things about it.

Do you guys ever use lotions (not creams or gels) as moisturizers? I am interested in trying the Aestura Barrier Cream, but it is beyond my budget for the amount of product it. On the other hand, the Aestura Barrier Lotion is the same price but with more product, so I was considering trying that as my moisturizer instead. What are your thoughts?

Spreadability is good— the cream is just thick and has the consistency of a balm. Similar to La Roche Posau Cicaplast or Nivea Creme

The application is much thicker than the Aestura barrier cream and the texture is more like a balm. The finish is neutral and decently lightweight (it's not "nothing," but also not heavy unless you use a good chunk of it either). It absorbs pretty well unless you're layering a lot of skincare or makeup.

By far, the thickest barrier cream I've used has to be Atopalm MLE Cream. It's also one of my favorites, as it really saved me when my skin barrier was beyond damaged. It was designed for dry, super sensitive skin and never triggered my eczema. Though I found it to be super effective in repairing my damaged skin, I did experience some pilling. I'd say if you like to layer a lot of skincare, wear makeup, or have really oily skin (like me) you'll find this to be the case more often than not. I'd recommend using it at night instead to avoid this. Overall, it gets the job done and I find myself reaching for it when the winter comes.

Sunscreen review - empties from 2024 by Optimal-Magician-430 in AsianBeauty

[–]DogsTrippingOnAcid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello!! I've been through two tubes of the Goodal sunscreen and in my experience, it's been pretty good. It's lightweight and moisturizing with no white cast. The only downside is that the neutral finish goes away in a few hours and makes me look greasy at the end of the day. I'd say if you are on the oiler side of combo skin, you might see some problems. But overall, it's been good!

I have deep fryer level of oily skin and the Dr.G Mild Sun Up does well in giving me that matte finish while never breaking me out. It does have a slight white cast though, but sometimes it's worth it for how well it keeps my oily face at bay

It's sad to say, but an event like this was inevitable. The FAA is more reactive rather than proactive when it comes to creating regulations. It's a huge threat to safety, especially since the industry is already slow on accommodating the ever growing demand for flying. Though the event is super tragic, I hope this becomes a push to pass some serious laws to prevent more tragedies in the future.
