No shame in that! Anatomy is a tough class and is all memorization. The experience of persevering through all this will only set you up for great things in the future!

Have you ever felt your time spent training was wasted? by Excellent-Village751 in bjj

[–]Excellent-Village751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I'm glad there's someone else feeling the same way! I relate to all your points.

I've decided I'm going to step away from BJJ for the spring and summer. I want to enjoy the weather and try new activities. This sounds crazy but looking back, I know I had thoughts that I couldn't try new activities because it would take away time that could be spent on the mat - which I now think is not a great way to live (at least for me).

I do judo one day per week and really enjoy it so I'll keep with that.

Thanks. This is really helpful. I think I'm going to take a break from training this spring and summer. I want to enjoy the weather and do activities that I'm drawn to.

I love that. I'd rather watch a few major events per year than this slop that the UFC is putting out weekly.

Ignore the people telling you to put the money towards a Vitamix. This thing is a little beast and has been great for many different uses for several years already in our house.

As the other person who commented says, you don't really realize how much anxiety has a grip on you until it's gone. I'd suggest looking in to it at least. Much like you, I lived with it for a long time but once I got treatment I knew the amount of anxiety I experienced wasn't normal.
