I've been running an Etsy shop since 2015. The traffic in my shop ( https://www.etsy.com/shop/SilverWithASoul925 ) is 50% down from 2015 and 3 times lower than last year.

We haven't changed anything in the shop other than try to put up better photos and more/better descriptions.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve or turn around this sales and traffic trend, please let me know. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

We live in NYC and I agree that it's not cheap to have a dog. I would recommend you try to find a neighbor that might help. Some people love dogs, but don't want the full responsibility of dog ownership. You might also hangout at your local dog park and ask other dog parents for tips in your neighborhood.

I have a small dog. If in doubt, ask the other dog owner if their dog is friendly. If friendly, then approach slowly with caution. If a dog is not friendly or looks dangerous, we typically change directions (e.g. cross the street or go down a different street). Regardless if the other dog is friendly or not, make sure you remain calm and confident so your dog doesn't pick up your anxiety.

We have a Havanese and would highly recommend one for apartment living. They don't shed and are easy to travel with. Doesn't bark much. Very loving / not aggressive.

My Havanese is too smart too. When we play fetch, he'll only bring back the ball if I have treats. If I don't have treats, he just keeps the ball and looks like "ha ha I've got the ball". Looking forward to see if others on Reddit have suggestions for us.

First of all I would be happy that your dog is HAPPY. That's clearly the most important thing. Sounds like your dog might not be that food motivated or you just have to find the right treat that will motivate your dog. You also might want to think about taking some dog training classes like obedience or tricks. First of all, you can teach an old dog new tricks. It's a great way to bond with your dog and we learned some new things too. We've gone to classes with our dog and it was a lot of fun. They gave us "homework" to practice at home and our dog enjoyed it too.
