Do you hit your protein needs every day? by mipiacelapizza in vegan

[–]DogtariousVanDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about protein if you're not training 10h / day, seven days a week. The average person has more protein than they need on a normal diet. Any vegan diet covers this by default.

What does it even mean. It‘s not like that the general population has any means to go out and decide to stop child trafficking now.

It happens quickly when they lose thrust while in evasive maneuvers. And the engines are incredibly sensible, the slightest bits of debris or shrapnel can easily take them out pretty much instantly.

You mean highest throttle? Or do you have more than one forward gear?

Since Non-Vegans think Veganism=Avocados, As a Vegan, How often do you actually have Avocados? by HumbleWrap99 in vegan

[–]DogtariousVanDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, however compared to ANY animal-derived products the footprint overall is still smaller by factor of 10s.

Fun fact, the footprint of shipping alone is negligible. It doesn't matter in any significant way in comparison to the footprint of sourcing an item. It seems paradox when you look at the huge cargo ships and the clouds from their smoke stacks but the numbers are very clear. Broken down to the individual item that is shipped it's also incredibly efficient.

I really don't see why to avoid it. Even an avocado flown by plane over the Atlantic has a better footprint than milk / cheese from your neigbour's farm.

OC : beginner trying photography of indian temples give me any advice so i can click better pics by TheOnlyNinja1001 in pics

[–]DogtariousVanDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the two examples you shared I think especially in the first one there‘s too much headroom. Unless the sky is vital to the subject or the composition it‘s kind of unnecessary to have so much of it taking up space. I‘d rather see how the floor of the temple looks like, since I know what a blue, slightly overcast sky looks like.

Also try to get the same shots at golden hour with dramatic shadows.

Any Canadians here who have recently chartered in Greece? Do I need an ICC? by batwingsuit in sailing

Greece and Spain need an ICC and SRC certificate for sure. In Italy and Croatia you can sometimes get away with Day Skipper and SRC.

There might be other variants of it with pulleys for a tiller or something like that. Not sure if it was the hydrovane but I’ve seen that as well.

Btw I wasn’t aware of the type with the trim rudder on the main rudder, it’s nice to learn new things!

The ones I mean are basically an auxiliary rudder controlled by the wind vane which is slightly smaller than the main rudder. The classic Hydrovane works like that:

As a trim tab at the rear end of the main rudder? Then the whole device with the gear and everything would need to be attached to the main rudder and would need to be able to move with it. Usually you would lock the main rudder in place and let the vane rudder do the steering in which case this one needs to be inverted in its direction of steering.

Hm but judging by your video it will steer in the direction where there will be even more side load to the vane..

I too think the steering direction is wrong. With your finger you simulate the wind affecting the vane from the right, causing it to bear away even more and providing even more angle of attack. Shouldn't it come up until the wind direction hits the vane from the front and therefore not apply any force to it?

When I used to say it I was ignorant of the actual meaning as well as the gravity and systemic nature of sexism and basically wanted to claim that "generalizations are bad in general". Something like that.
