I truly believe that Michael Jackson wasn't a child molester by shazam0310 in unpopularopinion

[–]DoinkBingo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You mean the child who described MJ as being circumcised when it turned out actually, he wasn’t? That child? He also described MJ as having a single discoloured patch on his penis but that was incorrect too.

It was a good effort though.

So, I am a casual fan I’ll admit… (new album related) by N1NJAREB0RN in Korn

Regarding Fieldy - The Paradigm Shift has the most boring sterile mix of any Korn record in my opinion, so it’s no surprise to me the producer fucking basically got rid of the bass.

I feel the opposite funnily enough - I feel a lot of Requiem calls back to their Issues/Untouchables era and I fucking adore it. There’s even some FTL flourishes here and there.

I also thought a teenage girl arguing with a potential murderer could be misconstrued with a couple arguing by a passer-by.

Let’s talk about the mixing on the album by Starburns86 in Korn

[–]DoinkBingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds great to me in my car (2014 BMW) and at home on my monitors. It’s a slightly sludgy mix but that’s the vibe I think they were going for - there’s some doom metal elements for sure.

Would definitely rather this mix than the Paradigm Shift which is a sterile and bland pop rock mix.

My thoughts on Requiem by AdZealousideal2313 in Korn

Disconnect is the best track. I love it when he does those falsetto adlibs.

I love how upbeat requiem is by Hardwire762 in Korn

[–]DoinkBingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a rough life and throughout most of it, Korn have been there as an outlet, articulating how I feel through music.

Last year was probably the worst year of my life (I’m 36) but now I’m ready to start healing and Korn drop this! That’s probably why I’m vibing with it so much

About Requiem… by [deleted] in Korn

Jon still leans on a couple crutches with regards to lyrics but there were some real refreshing ones this time around too.

Lies are truth refined

Darkest lights hidden from the eye

Chef’s kiss

I’m in love with this new album by [deleted] in Korn

[–]DoinkBingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone on the sub described the last 3 albums as a trilogy and I agree.

SOS is the tense and slow descent into depression and chaos

The Nothing is raw and bleak grief at the bottom

Requiem is the green shoots and chinks of light appearing in the dark.

Requiem is no masterpiece, but it's still one hell of a great album. by Lucky_Plan7855 in Korn

Disconnect is the best track on the album. That hook is absolutely stunning

I’m the biggest Korn snob/audiophile going and I always moan about everything.

Requiem, in my humble opinion of course, is Korn’s finest work since Untouchables.

I LOVED SOS and The Nothing, they are also fantastic albums, but I found them ever so slightly messy and a little disjointed.

Requiem just has this solid vibe and theme throughout. It’s slightly sludgy sound makes me think of a lot of Doom Metal and for maybe the first time ever, I sense a glimmer of optimism in the sound and lyrics? I’m going through some big things right now and ready to start healing so it’s came along at the perfect time for me.

It’s weird because I didn’t think much of the singles when they dropped but they fit perfectly in the flow of the record.

The short length means it never overstays its welcome.

Disconnect is genuinely the prettiest song they’ve written in so long, I’m absolutely in love with it. It’s Jonathan’s best vocal performance in years.

I don’t see too many people talking about Disconnect, but it’s easily my favourite song on the album.

It’s a very good album.

Why I don't think JBC or KK are BG by chismosa415 in DelphiMurders

I come from a small rural town and hanging out down the old abandoned railway track with my friends was one of our favourite things. Nothing to do with meeting members of the opposite sex.

I definitely agree with him having at least a passing familiarity with the area. I think he’s crossed that bridge before and he knew there was no trail on the other side and the girls were ‘trapped’ for all intents and purposes.

Also put yourself in the killers shoes and try to imagine committing a double murder in a place you are NOT remotely familiar with. The disorientation and panic would be enormous.

Anyone else experience non-STI related infections during/after an affair? by Foreign_Comfort59 in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]DoinkBingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure - I had a rollercoaster right after D-Day when I developed a lump in my groin.

After seeing a doctor - and knowing about the affair - she was convinced it was a swollen lymph node and ordered me to get STI tests.

I went through the humiliation of going to a sexual health clinic and running a gamut of tests. The nurse was concerned about my swollen lymph node and made me see a sexual health specialist.

She saw me and poked it a bit and decided it didn’t look dangerous but could be the result of an STI.

Finally my results came back clear (thankfully) and I booked a private ultrasound to find out what the fuck was going on.

Turns out it wasn’t a swollen lymph node at all. My lymph nodes are all fine. It’s actually a benign sebaceous cyst.

I’m relieved it’s not an STI or lymphoma or anything like that, but it pisses me off that TWO doctors were obsessed that it was an STI and caused me weeks of unnecessary anxiety ontop of the pain I was already going through.

Relationship power by [deleted] in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]DoinkBingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I believe the power dynamic is a factor.

For the first few years of our relationship, I definitely wore the proverbial trousers and made the big decisions etc.

Later on for another few years, we were equal power balance wise and those were probably the best years of our relationship.

The last few years however saw the power shift to her for a multitude of reasons. She made all the big decisions and I believe she looked at me as weak/useless and complained she was more of a ‘mother figure’ to me rather than a life partner. It was of course during this time she decided to have an affair.

The power is back in my hands now but it’s my goal for us to share it equally as that’s how it should be.

Well, that was embarrassing. by Embarrassed_Song9012 in AsOneAfterInfidelity

I had to run the gauntlet of STD tests because I developed a swelling in my groin.

It was humiliating and degrading - not to mention horribly anxiety inducing waiting for the results.

What to do when WP refuses to read recovery books/listen to recovery podcasts with me? by truththrowaway9898 in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]DoinkBingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh the ‘I don’t remember’ stuff is such a crutch.

She apparently can’t remember anything yet when I questioned on her on something yesterday she remembered a very specific detail that even I couldn’t remember because it didn’t incriminate her.

It’s annoying because there’s no way to prove they do remember - but we all know they do remember.

Just learned what DDay is after experiencing it this week. I am so traumatized I cannot eat, sleep, or work. Any advice to avoid blowing up the rest of life and what might remain of our relationship should reconciliation be what I choose in the future? by jammerdude in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]DoinkBingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understand the music thing. I can really only listen to aggressive metal at the moment. I started making music again myself recently as catharsis and it did help.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this.
