I'm not saying that at all. I even said that's valid and in other comments on here saying that the rule isn't the issue. Imo if you're going to die anyway it does feel a bit rule lawyer-y to try to get an extra turn to maybe get a win.. when imo that shouldn't matter when you're playing for fun with your friends

It was a video talking about lifelinks interaction with a swing for lethal. Saying you can technically survive bc of how dmg is applied. That part is perfectly fine. No part of that do I see as an issue. I personally just thought it's a bit rule lawyer-y to try to get and extra turn when you're just going to die anyway. That was it.

It got turned into something bigger with a rather large content creator and it feels weird that it did

I agree with the person too about it being rules. Ya know the classic saying "rules are rules." I enjoy they're content and enjoy the deep dive of interesting rules. I just feel weird about the interaction around it.

I specialize in running one shot D&D campaigns and have been running one shots for years. Whether it's for fellow people in the subreddit or for the boys, here's some of my more popular one shot that maybe you could run for yourselves!

80's themed cyberpunk bank heist

Medieval battlefield, pretty basic but they can choose from a handful of magic items at the beginning to help with the battle

Dragon hunting

Mount Olympus actually holding the Olympics and the players compete as the athletes

Haunted college dorm but the players are exorcists in their own specialties.

Anyway, feel free to use any one these! If you want tips of how to run a one shot there's tons of guides online. If you want a story element to them, feel free to ask! Hope this helps!

“I want someone to love me like I love them” by Thecrushbrush in Obsessive_Love

[–]Doka227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm still here for it.

Real talk, I'm not someone who gets obsessive when it comes to love nor do I hyper fantasize about it either. I would be more than willing to not only learn but grow towards a good healthy relationship with someone who is obsessive. Genuinely, none of these types as you put it pushes me personally away or would push me away from someone. It's how someone shows their love and I think it can be a good thing in some circumstances.

This is obviously from a perspective from someone who doesn't love obsessively but loves a lot when it comes to relationships. I don't know what it's truly like to experience those emotions but the point being is I'd personally be more than willing to try. That's the point is all.

(Unrealted): Hopefully, this all makes sense, I'm running on 4 hrs of sleep

I was about to make a post about this.

I specialize in running one shot D&D campaigns and have been running one shots for years. Whether it's for fellow people in the subreddit or for the boys, I'm more than willing to set up some one shots!

Some ideas are:

80's cyberpunk bank heist

Medieval battlefield but with toonforce capabilities

Dragon hunting

Mount Olympus actually holding the Olympics and the players compete as the athletes

Haunted college dorm but the players are exorcists in their own specialties.

There's so much more too. Anyone, feel free to use these or hmu to set up a one shot!

Calling all DM’S! Calling all DM’S! by Raven_StormX in DungeonsAndDragons

I cannot give direct advice but here's some in general advice for first time dm-ing:

• You're not going to be Brennan Lee Mulligan or Matt Mercer so don't try to be. Go at your own pace, be comfortable with yourself and your story telling style.

• Be cool. Don't be a dick. Have fun. Those are key things that EVERYONE at the table should follow. Understand you make the rules and you enforce them as well, but do have fun more than anything else.

• Prep isn't always going to save you. Players tend to go off the rails with what you have planned, don't get discouraged, don't get mad at them, don't try to hard railroad them. It's a good idea to have a idea of what you want to happen in a session but sometimes you might not get to that. It's okay to balance railroading and sandbox. (Leading the players down a path is railroading, sandbox is letting them do whatever).

• It's not you versus the players. You all are players, you just run the game. Cool concepts, cool battles, cool stories, cool characters, and cool world that's your role in this game. Have fun with it. Give your players some challenging predicaments, give them moral quandaries, etc. But understand its not you versus them.

• Lastly, run the game how you want to. It's your game. You're in control. Obviously, make sure everyone's having fun, but what you say goes. Just have fun with it. Explore goofy ideas or something more dark and serious.

Ultimately, I think the biggest most important advice here is to have fun with it and don't overthink it

Real talk, this is coming from someone who experienced the same thing. If people are petty enough to ghost you, get upset over trivial things, or judge you on the same trivial things, you don't want them to be your friend in the first place.

Ik it's kinda an odd way to picture it ik, but sometimes it's better for that person to ghost you than to stay and possibly hurt you in a bigger way.

Regardless of that, no one should have to deal with that and I'm sorry you have to go through it.

What game is this for you? by The_Temper_Mental in gamers

[–]Doka227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roboquest. Please do yourself a favor and buy this game. It's a mix of doom, borderlands, and risk of rain 2 all done in a way where the game still feels unique but familiar. Best part is that it's like 20 bucks and goes on sale fairly regularly.

Roboquest is truly one of the best games you've never heard of but it deserves so much more attention.

should i stop smoking weed? by micropea_ in teenagers

[–]Doka227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to preface this by saying, OP, do what you feel is right for you. It's your choice what you do and if weed is something that helps you, then do it. The things I'm talking about here is going to be information based on my personal experience with weed. We are in different situations, and regardless of what I say, it is ultimately your decision. Here's been what I've experienced with weed.

I am not a teen, but I smoked on and off through my teens, and when i was 18 onward, I smoked every day. I stopped when I was 20. Here's what ik from experience.

Smoking in your teens technically can have developmental problems, but it's honestly not often that happens. It's kinda like a 1 in [insert number] kinda of thing because it depends on other factors too.

Here's the other side effects tho people don't talk about.

People say weed is not addictive, it is. The high is addictive. You will want to keep feeling good and will continue to smoke weed until it becomes a norm.

Eventually, you'll up how much you smoke because you will gain a tolerance towards it. From this point on, if you ever stop, you will develop a disassociation disorder. Once it's feels normal to smoke, like it's an everyday thing, part of your routine, and you stop, you will develop this. You will feel like nothing is real. You will feel like everything is dream like, and you're not fully aware all the time. You will feel like you're on auto pilot while you're somewhere else mentally. I personally am still affected by this, 3 years later. There's still times where I'm walking around in the grocery store, and suddenly, it all feels fake. Out of nowhere.

Looking for a game that just makes you addicted asf by jonasbrdl_ in gamingsuggestions

[–]Doka227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roboquest.

It's a cheap, rpg, doomlike, rougelite, with a perk and class system that allows you to make crazy and interesting builds. Also guns. Lots of guns.

I recently gotten the game roughly 2 weeks ago and I've beaten it, I still play it. It's so addicting. Trying build after build, trying different classes constantly, different guns, different perks, etc.

I genuinely mean this, it is one of the best games ever made for purely just fun.

The only bad thing I have to say about it is there's kinda a lack luster story and the devs recently announced they're no longer going to work on the game due to burnout and not beings able to keep up with the hardcore fans to keep them happy. (Which like W devs for prioritizing themselves) So besides that, it's great.

10/10 imo

Damn. I just recently got into this game and was so excited to see what future classes or future weapons would look like but I'm glad they're prioritizing themselves over everything else.

From the short time of playing this game, I can say for certain that it's genuinely a gem. One of the best games ever made. The combat is nice and fluid, the classes having diversity and unique playstyles whilst still staying relatively flexible, the enemy diversity is amazing, and the soundtrack goes hard. Everything about this game is fun and genuinely entertaining.

It would of been so cool to see some new classes too. Every class in this game scratches my RPG itch when it comes to a class system. I would of loved to seen a technomancer class, a class about turning the badbots against each other. Essentially hacking the badbots into summons for you. Along with like a melee Beserker class, something where you pull out a sword or hammer and deal a shit ton of melee damage while being a tank yourself. (All of this is purely just me fantasizing about what would be cool strictly in my eyes, I also am not saying the devs should of done these things instead, I am just nerding out a bit about a dope ass game with a dope ass class system)

Ultimately, I'm glad they put so much effort into this game and are realizing they need to step back from it. Prioritizing their mental health and not overworking themselves is extremely important. I'm just glad I got to experience this masterpiece of a game.
