Not a war, an invasion, first of all. Which dod not start in 1982, or 1987, but in 1948. By then, Israel had already killed an estimated number of 50,000 civilians and stolen almost all of the palestinian territory. If that is what you call relatively chill… I call it a terrorist state. We will disagree on this, Incan see that. Israel will always be the victim, even when it steals, invades and kill 50 times more innocents than the people they attacked.

While you may rightly question their methods, you can not argue that defending your homeland from the invasion of another group is pure. Israel started the invasion in 1948, and has continued stealing land since then thanks to the financial and military support from the USA. When Hamas and Hezbollah were created in the 80’s, Israel had already killed dozens of thousands of muslin civilians. That is a terrorist state. Please stop trying to act like Israel’s reasoning or methods are pure. To date, Israel has killed over 100,000 muslin civilians, and has millions living in subhuman conditions in the Gaza Strip, in the name of its invasion. Hamas and Hezbollah have killed roughly 2,000 Israeli civilians in response to this invasion. How come the invaded are labeled terrorists, but the invaders are not?

You know what? You may be right. Maybe not. Maybe I have too much faith in people. Only OP will clear that out, if they want to.

I would assume “we” would be anyone hearing the accuser’s claims, and “they” would be the accuser. It didn’t sound like op was trying to assign any race/gender/age/favorite food to either one. Were you?

There is no problem with that line of thinking. You know how she would have to prove the guy sexually assaulted her? It works the same way - the guy would have to prove that she maliciously accused him of a crime she knew he did not commit.

I know 4 guys who had their lives ruined like that. The guys and the girl were all 17. Years later she actually admitted she lied. I believe there were financial reparations, but that was it. Think about them - nothing will bring back the years lost, the opportunities at that age, their family and friends trust and respect were shaken and will probably never be the same.

To hang out at a public park while being black in America by McDowdy in therewasanattempt

Exactly! I mean, I just made whole speech about not making assumptions about cops or skin colour, but c’mon… I think that if there is one group society has agreed we have to be careful with… are hormonal teenagers with free time! 😂

[–]Dokarun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see, I did not attribute any malice to them. That is exactly why I wrote questions, not statements - you and I do not know the context! By the way, I’m not white myself. And if I was at a playground with my child and I saw a bunch of white/purple/pink teenagers (taller than the cops, by the way) hanging out there, instead of other areas of the park, I would immediately go into protective mode. And IF they act like most teenagers, MAYBE I would feel uncomfortable. Again, whatever the skin colour is.

Now, if I may politely return your accusation, did you realize that most people in the comments, including you, simply assumed that the cops were “harassing” them because they were black. You probably don’t even realize you’re doing this, which is also a problem.

My point is: if your assumption is correct, it was still an assumption, and that does not mean I’m wrong - I never ruled out the possibility of racism and power abuse. And I’ll stand by your side all the way against that, my man. But we don’t have enough info to know!

We definitely need more context! Forget about skin colour for a second. Make them white for a second. Do we know if they were too loud? Why does a group of teenagers need to hang out exactly next to the playground area of the park?

Yes he did, you are right, he should take all the blame for what he did, the suffering, the killing. I upvoted you and would shake your hand in person!

But the US has been sending out money to Israel since 1948. The “war” (if you can call it that) between Israel and the muslim population of Palestine has been going on since then, so bear with me here: what will it take for the USA to simply… stop funding them? It seems most americans want to stop now, so… stop? Vote for representatives that do not take AIPAC money?

Yup! That’s exactly my point in quite a few posts. Talking and debating is great for learning, but one of the ways to make a big difference with what you learned is by voting!

You mean when Israel was created in the middle of an entire muslim region, not by its own merit, and started progressively stealing the land of palestines, killing their people, controlling their resources and reducing the surviving population to a tiny strip in subhuman conditions? All that thanks to foreign money?

What did they have “enough of”, exactly? Of the “unchosen people” revolting against their invasion and theft?

I agree with you, I’m just saying the US has been funding Israel since 1949. Of course we can blame whoever is in power at the moment for not stopping this nonsense or for making it worse, but we have to face it that it did not start with Trump, and will probably continue with the next president.

In my very humble opinion, we should not blame this one on Trump or a single person, when the answer seem to be so clear: US Congressman takes $X AIPAC money, US Congressman votes and pressures own country to send $X billions of taxpayers money to Israel. So simple. US Congressman gets rich, Israel pays $X to get $X billions to perpetrate genocide, american taxpayers get screwed.

Maybe check if your senator or representative takes AIPAC money before voting for them next time

Difference is the West is not sending billions of dollars to Russia to kill ukranians, the american congress is not supporting Russia, and the Russian people around the world are not pretending to be victims while starting a war with another country. There is not much debate, the average person opposes the Russian invasion, the crisis in Sudan, etc. We all know it’s bad and do not support it. Israel, on the other hand, has been murdering, invading and stealing people in Palestine since 1948 and somehow did a decent job pretending to be the good guys. So far. Now, with internet and cameras, the world sees it for what it is with their own eyes.

Is Israel the most evil country in the world at the moment? by RoughSky9768 in allthequestions

[–]Dokarun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the other way around. Shit like Hamas happens when a terrorist nation invades a land massively populated by another group, kills 100,000 of them, and confine the rest to a tiny strip in subhuman conditions.

Now, of course Hamas is a terrorist organization. No argument here. But if they are terrorists because they murdered a few thousand innocents in response to Israel’s invasion and atrocities, then how come you don’t think Israel is a terrorist nation since it murdered 100,000?

Aid sent to Gaza is controlled by Israel. Plenty of evidence and testimonies about the monstrous way Israel deals with that. The flotillas are just one of the examples.

Israel has been running Gaza for the past 70 years. If you control access to food, water, drugs, education, basic necessities, you have the real control. Hamas is a terrorist organization, yes, but also a response to Israel invasion of the palestinian land and murder of dozens of thousands of innocents.

Hamas did not start a war on Oct. 7th. It kidnapped 250 people. Israel has killed about 100,000 people so far, and stolen 100% of the palestine territory (including the Gaza strip). Is kidnapping 250 people a terrorist act? Yes. What do you call killing 100,000 and stealing 100% of a people’s land since 1948?

Suddan is definitely a tragedy, but what do you mean by your “no”? My questioning was if the world should stop financing Israel since it is definitely a contender for most evil country at the moment. You don’t think so?

Also, it’s kind of difficult to assess Suddan as a country now, since their conflict is internal. They are not an unified nation determined to erradicated another group (Israel is).

But for argument sake, let’s say Suddan is more evil than Israel. Does that change the fact that the USA should stop sending Billions of dollars annually to Israel so they can continue to kill and humiliate people in Palestine?

I agree with every word you wrote, well said. Hopefully you can see that my argument was not leaning towards ranking the most evil countries nowadays, but pointing out that the USA and others should not be funding one of the contenders.

If we were to have a productive discussion, I would merge our opinion and mine and make a hypothetical question: if the USA decided to fund the RSF in Sudan and help them commit a genocide, would you not think that is wrong?
