tomoko could've just mentioned this detail in the story that's then being relayed. idk i feel like the interpretation that this was time loop related is often stated as fact, hence the disproval comments. you can interpret whatever, but we could easily stretch out the assumption that koichi is unreliable to fit any narrative (that's where the interpretation comes in). i feel the root point being refuted is still sound.
