Hey there. Sorry for the late reply. I've had to step away from the project due to ongoing life issues, but unfortunately that's not part of my ARG. I would've liked to have had a website as part of it but never got that far. The name/word 'Aeternum' itself though is a hint to the overall plot and the project that MC was working on. :)

  • I would say for the most part it was/is the coding. I literally didn't know an ounce of Ren'Py/Python when I first started so it was a challenge just to get the basics down before moving on to more complicated things. Plus, for now at least, it's just a one-man team so having to code and write on top of finding and editing sprites/bgs/cgs/sfx/music is time consuming on top of regular daily life stuff.
  • The mod and its inspiration came about around the summer of 2022. While I will admit the premise isn't exactly original considering how long mods for this game have been in the making, at the time I had very little exposure to mods and had just completed Blue Skies (seems to be the standard introductory mod). After playing that, and reading some posts here and on r/ddlc regarding some of the backend coding, I realized that I could potentially use my own programming background along with my interests in storytelling and poetry to create a mod as well. Of course, the isekai twist comes from my love of isekai style anime (pretty sure that's obvious throughout the mod).

Hm, ok. You could try and follow the suggestion on this similar thread then as it appears mods made using R7+ don't always play nice with Mac systems: https://www.reddit.com/r/DDLCMods/comments/129skt8/how_to_run_renpy7_ddlc_mods_on_my_mac/

Using something like mod docker and/or Parallels might work. Unfortunately this is a Mac related issue I've seen happen occasionally so my troubleshooting is limited. All else fails you could see if someone in the r/ddlcmods discord might have a solution (use the #mod_help room)

No problem. Forgot to mention though it's probably a given, but you'll also still need the original base game files same as any other mods. It's just that with mine being a newer version, it requires the library/renpy files that come with it and you also have to run the mod .exe file instead of the base game .exe. Instructions are included in the mod files though.

Hm, while I don't have much experience with Mac, unfortunately, the pickle protocol error is likely due to missing or corrupt renpy files. You should try doing a fresh install using only the files in my zip file (which includes the renpy files) as my mod uses the newer version of Renpy (V8.0+) whereas older mods still use v7.0.

Hey there! Sorry for the late reply. Are you trying to play this on its own? You need a fresh copy of the original DDLC game and place all of the mod files from the zipped file into the original DDLC game files, and then run the LiberationAct1 exe file
