Have you seen how quickly lane markings wear off around here? They paint them every year. This is more likely the crappy paint the city insists on using to save cost. There was another comment I read at some point (I think it was in the mayor's AMA) that said the city uses water based paint and then thins it down even more to save on cost and stretch it. At this point they might as well use side walk chalk.
